  1. I had a similar problem but replaced the switches for a few quid i think the new box is 275 ? Then you have to drill some holes in your chipper and cut off the old welded on plate for the old control box
  2. Im after some advice looking to get a decent splitter budget would be upto £1000 all advice will be appreciated
  3. We have been using the timberwolf 125 for 2-3 years no bearing change regular checks for vibration back cap etc and runs great we recently did a site clearence with it about 6-8 ton in one day and the little gem had no problems even with 6 inch dia wood chipping hard and soft woods We re sharpen blades every week and it makes the machine work optimum and last long. If you maintain a timberwolf regularly it will be a great machine and i think good value for a all round performer. ours weights 575kgs so you wont tear clutches up in your truck and very easy for 1 man to move around. So thats my vote based on my experience of buying owning repairing using one 8/10 call orange plant great company
  4. Ill have to dig out some pics of the one you was not quiet sure where they might land but you felled it any way lol .
  5. I guess it will always happen so just keep your stuff relevant and to the point. And if your a good company it wont really make any odds.
  6. I had an my entire services page copied by another company it did piss me of as i went to the effort of writing it all myself and they just copied the whole page exact layout etc. It dont really matter tho The only problem is see is if they are a bad company people could associate it with yours if they use the same wording etc.
  7. just look at peoples trucks and your work out something
  8. Guys not really into the log splitting game but people have been biting my arm of lately cold snap i guess. How much should i charge for half ton logs split of conifur soft woods/ ash hard woods 1 ton amount any opinions are welcome:confused1:
  9. Get a 30ins sub width grinder and at least 20hp honda or kohler engine Mid road good price
  10. I got scammed by this when i was first operating. I never signed anything just agreed on the phone for them to call back to maybe place an order next thing i had the order come through with a crap cheap ad it was called onthebell magazine. Well i stalled to pay as i never wanted the ad just showed interest got threatening letters the works i paid to shut them up but IMO watch out for callers asking you to advetise in onthebell magazine.
  11. Great engine i would always send it to either a honda dealer claim the cost as a tax loss or try orange plant they are pretty clued up on this engine. Saves you the stress:confused1:
  12. To compete on any decent level you should have a hydraulic chipper.
  13. It is normal and i believe it is an indicator showing the no stress is working if it goes out then you might have a problem lol
  14. To much is what it costs and now theres to many companys so im guessing the average day rate will become 200 a day scary thoughts.
  15. We use a primus makes life much easier and the only pain is you have to get to anchor to install it. Never let them free fall alway remove them before we get out of the tree to expensive to let hit the floor.
  16. Well qualifications dont mean alot other than you can do the bare minimum but well done still. What will give you a chance is offering to work for a very competitive day rate as plenty of climbers right now with little work so if you can handle working cheap you should find work. When things pick up say march then consider asking for more the company will also have seen your performance and be able to estimate what your worth. Good luck its tough right now as always but persist:biggrin:
  17. I promise a tw/125 is the best of the bunch for your needs so small yet powerful enough to handle everything i chuck at it and we use it for big jobs. Orange plant will be one of the best places to buy from as they really do understand what customer service and aftersales is all about and thats why you pay a price for. I went there and over 2.5 years my machine has been impressive no break downs just sharp blades new belts and MAINTENANCE:sneaky2:
  18. LOL Im good but thanks haha:001_huh:
  19. Its the boredom i need to fix something or annoy some one lol i miss the small pleasures
  20. No work as snow has lost me a weeks work also could not do quotes etc. Advertising bills website bills and a nice £800 bill for new clutch and flywheel for truck. What a month im already stressed and not even worked a full week, Just thought i cheers everyone up lol:biggrin:
  21. What your after is a TW125 20-24hp 6inch chipper light reliable perfect i would expect they still fetch 4-5 thousand but worth every penny. The term rocking horse shite might explain how hard to come by they can be at a good price tho.
  22. Well as with all insurances you dont get good value lol. You should be able to get insured quiet cheap for two of you shop about. Just make sure they cover for everything you do. I would think they assume you both work for the company and employ each other ??
  23. I dont input the code into my site dont have the time but i find the best words for my area which is always changing.
  24. Cheers Steve, Same with arbtalk briliant source of info
  25. You get what you pay for i have spent thousands on my sites changing them constantly till i got sometime for the time being im happy with i also have flash which cost alot. If you can get everything you want done first time you will save money but with me i was always adding removing things and will always do so at an expense. I think websites take time to establish a reliable income and there is alot of competitors The most important and expensive part of a website is SEO You have to get the balence right not to much but right to the limit You will always have to update your site to rank high on search engines or it will stagnate and drop down. Feel free to look through my sites leave feed back etc good or bad i would be happy to provide any advice for a newbie.
