  1. Or the Zillon
  2. I did the RSPH level 2 course this year on pest control and the industry veteran teaching us had worked for the big companies and said bees are not protected.
  3. No, bees are NOT protected, people just want to look after them because they are having a hard time. So if you get a nest in your house for example in the cavity wall, you can kill the nest if it can't be moved. Killing bees should be the absolute last resort.
  4. Tried it but a decent gust of wind picked it up and throws it over the hedge into the road. Just leave them open now and nets go undercover elsewhere
  5. It was an awesome time Up there. Familiar faces and new faces. Always good to get out away from it all. Idyllic spot up there. Good to see you again Paul [emoji106] Big thanks to Kev and his father in law for hosting.
  6. It's been working through arb waste of all sorts of shapes and sizes and hasn't really struggled. The two speeds on it means it can split at half speed but is much more powerful. Leave them out in the open. Yard space is open to the prevailing wind so dries them lovely.
  7. It's done a hell of a lot of work over the 18+ months it's been owned. Minor issues but mainly down to use and wear and tear. It's done this lot in the last few weeks. Easily split 500 cube in the time it's been here.
  8. I got one April 2013. Loved it out the box. So light and nimble. It's done tons of work and has easily done a few times the amount my 200t has done. Done some decent fells with it and worked it hard. Mines had the timing advanced and an 8mm hold in the exhaust. Instant chain speed on the throttle. Like a mini 200t. Stihl did well with the 150 imo. When I started at this new company I was using my 150 and it converted everyone. Managed to get one and now they fight over it at times.
  9. Sorted. Cheers
  10. Really need some help. Major problem this weekend. Got a 2 day job booked but climber has just had to cancel for family medical reasons. I need a proficient climber for 2 days. 3 straight forward dismantles of suppressed trees, some crown lifting and a thin on one tree. All my kit is available to use on the job. Good rates paid. Cannot move the job. Need need need a climber for tomorrow and Sunday. In St. Helens! Cheers!
  11. Bbc weather here. Not had a problem and plenty accurate.
  12. can anybody point me to a meteor pot & piston? would rather just go straight for new parts. also, how do i get the piston off the con rod? is there a metal tube/sleeve in the top that needs knocking out?
  13. What chemical do I need to clean the bore? How fine does the wet and dry need to be? Also where is the best place to order the parts needed? This level of fixing is new to me so have questions! I still need to get that 200t up to you spud!
  14. I was standing on and around roots fully covered in bark. Other trees had moved other stones which were becoming precarious. Our tidying up was helped massively by the tractor. Got all the logs chip and rakings of the footpath and scooped it up. Saved loads of time!
  15. Turns out the lad my dad has on the firewood pile has used almost neat fuel in the saw. He was saying it wouldn't start. I poured the fuel out and it was pale and almost clean. Took the exhaust off and saw some scoring on the piston. Pot doesn't seem so bad but want some better opinions.
  16. Mainly. Silver birch had started to lift a large stone on top of the wall which was part of the initial enquiry, but there wasn't much rooting space so it was matter of time really before a tree or the wall gave up so they all got the chop.
  17. No because I like my lockjack!
  18. One of my team said the pole saw won't start. Had a bit of a mess with it. Checked spark plug etc. turned out it was just out of fuel. Fuelled it up and was running on the second pull! Said member of staff got a ribbing for missing that simple fix.
  19. I did. Worked under my dads company for 12 months but a contract didn't come off that we were almost hoping for. Just didn't have enough tree work to justify much kit so it never went too far. I work as a supervisor for another firm now. Based on grounds maintenance but now have 3 tree teams which I supervise.
  20. i would if i didn't work for a company that already owns 3 tw150s
  21. mine still going fine, had it for nearly 18 months now. had a pretty hard day on it today so will be giving it a good check over tomorrow!
  22. No it's a mates. Good machine. Worked hard today. Video of the biggest tree dropped
  23. Sutchs just did the lift. The engineering guys got it wrong. Anchor bolts in sandstone. Just crumbled out as it lifted. Yeah that would have been my dad or one of his guys at the fields. Doing a lot of pitch renovations round Liverpool. 120 I think.
  24. Job in Salford today. Road closure. Getting the trees off the top of the wall. 4 of us on site from 7-5. Engineering company came in with a 40t crane to lift some coping stones that a silver birch had lifted from growing under it. Turns out they couldn't lift it. Sandstone wouldn't anchor their lifting plate properly. Bit of a shambles on their part! Our part went well. Landy full of chip around 3-4 cube. Transit of logs. Then tractor trailer 3/4 chip and 1/4 logs and rakings. Had plenty drama with pedestrians calling us some colourful names because we stopped them walking under a crane and through a work site.
