  1. thats a tough question, ive had a 260 since 2007, not used a 261 so no comments for that. Although i love my 260 with its 13" bar, great for snedding up, light weight and good enough power. if i had to choose i would take the 260, its robust and not much can go wrong, although it likes to destroy its chain brake parts, done it twice in just under a year, but not an expensive fix.
  2. never worked near film sets. but i was in grange hill a few years ago!
  3. dont want a landy anymore, i want one of these with a towbar! VW Race Touareg 3: a desert racer for the road - BBC Top Gear
  4. 7/32 is 5.5mm which is for the .404 chain? which is wrong if you are running the 13/64 which is 5.2mm, the correct file size, as mark says for the 3/8 chain.
  5. ive used toms 271, its good, the revving seems funny though, when you take your thumb off it holds the revs up for part of a second, then drops them down to idle, its an intelligent management system so its handy if your snedding, no waiting for those first revs to pick back up. its a tad heavy for the power it gives out, but i do rate it well. 13" bar for snedding up, and itll be a great addition.
  6. are they fairly tight? do they auto-retract like a measure tape? i might get some too, weve got plenty cones. Would they take bits of small brash landing on them? Apologies for all the questions, seem quite promising pieces of kit!
  7. Quality! hahaha  Im afraid i cant type a long answer, due to health and safety reasons i might get an RSI from typing too much. It completely depends on the situation, if i was in a truck that had flashing lights i would probably stop and help out, but it would be a bit cosy, 3 of us in a tight landy!
  8. im a measly 5'7'' and i hover between 10 and 11 stone, hardly any fat on me. getting out to those little tips is a handy tool! I wouldnt say being big is a disadvantage in any way, i find the bigger guys are invaluable when you need them, as much use as a thinner guy, if not more useful!
  9. i didnt mean the market share, i know they are doing well and are closing up to microsoft, but i know they made more money than them in one of the last few years. Apples share has rocketed since they brought out the iphone and then started improving everything and making them look so good!
  10. its all rumors till apple says so... the iphone nano rumors have been around for every model, even for the ipad, ipad nano = iphone/ipod touch. The push for marketing on the new devices makes people buy them, we get an upgrade when they come out, and send the old ones to envirophone and get the money back, for the iphone 4 we actually made a bit of money sending in the old 3GS as the upgrade price to the 4 was less. There are a few sides to the apple gadgets i see, there are the people who are early adopters and will get everything as soon as it comes out, those who seem to despise the early adopters, but like the apple stuff anyway, so will buy it eventually, and by the time they have spent half a year deciding, theres a new one due out, so theirs is out of date faster it seems! The last type are the ones who ust dont see apple as anything important, just another company making their money. I believe they are making their money very well, to be doing as good as, if not better than microsoft, they must have some good products and marketing, no?
  11. so i had the girlfriend hunting while i was in college today. PPhoned John lewis in liverpool and they had none, although they had 1 left in stock, in cambridge! so she went for that, it'll be here at the weekend. bought myself the wireless keyboard for it for when im sat working, easier to type on the keyboard than it is on the screen while sat down. its linked to my phone at the minute, works lovely!
  12. Hope it's not man flu
  13. big j did you manage to get an ipad 2? ive been battling all weekend and got nothing. there are loads on ebay going for an extra £50-200 more than retail, i think im getting close! my turn will come hopefully...
  14. the next pic should be of the tree in felling season! nice willow that, not many that big that havent been mullered in the past!
  15. It can vary. I've done a days site clearance with my 660 and used 4L. But done domestic work and wouldn't use more than 2 in 2 saws and a blower combined. I would average it at 2-3. A each day is different.
  16. Whatever we buy at Capel can be tried out the day after then if you want. Not climbed a big beech in ages!
  17. We bought the chapter 8 kit from honeys a while ago. 3 months later all the signs and bags had gone. Still got all 20 cones all shiny and posh!
  18. We've got an old self propelled rotovator that's knackered. Could turn that into a self powered one to pull my chipper around too! We too have a welder and plenty of metal around.
  19. Got new belts. Sprayed them with belt dressing too. It Got blocked and then it just started squealing and wouldn't chip. Had lots of conifer to chip so had to stack it in trailer. Bah. Works well now though.
  20. I'd gone for a climb with Tom today over the local park. We had a scope round to find some trees and went to a patch of 60ft syccies which were nice easy climbs. Will have to go back again soon. Spotted a nice beech there I'd love to go back to.
  21. Bah. Talk about peeing on my parade. You spoilsports! Wanted to climb it today. But found some nice ladder sycamores instead.
  22. Bah. It's bigger than it's neighbours! Biggest tree on the park. So it's a monster in thatsense.
  23. Found this monster pop at the park today
  24. And a nice 3 hour trek home last thing! Don't even know if I'll have money to spend. But wouldnt mind getting down for a walk round!
  25. Medium for me. Good things come in small packages! I'll vote on the pc tomorrow!
