  1. I can rig a fine lattice of rope! years of practice from back in the day loading/stacking brush on a flat bed old ford d series, and hand balling it off each nite! Tis an art to stack, and an art to tie it down, all trainees should get at least a year of it! character building is that!
  2. Sometimes you just have to go with your gut, i am no scientist, and certainly dont read research papers or rather understand them fully, but I never needed to, i know that TI is a hot topic and is going to be around for a long, long time. Wether cost will keep it from progressing as fast as it could is something we will only know in time. one things is certain, if there isnt enough information and confirmation in this thread to convince you, your never going to be convinced of its practical or benificial use in our market. I cant get all technical like you esteemed and learned folks, least not yet, but I will say this, if I had 13k I would buy one tommorow over anything else.
  3. Nothing wrong with the old rope down! theres an art to it you know:biggrin:
  4. lovely dark pluerotus ostreatus, ripe and ready for the table, with a nice bit of tortelini and a little carbonara sauce, washed down with a bottle of red, lovely!
  5. I think also that fungi are more geotropic than photo responsive but I do see fungi stretching out for a reason, this may be to elivate the spore surface to a breeze rather than being tucked away in a sheltered position. so maybe the are aerotropic?
  6. would you be willing to work in Bucks county? I could ask my boss, this might suit his needs in the short term as I am looking to become part time on and off this summer.
  7. using a spliced eye those ball retrievers are my choice also, though I do like to remove the staple holding the cord together and replace with a more robust knot as I have lost one due to the staple failing! The plastic "golden nugget" is a great thing in principal, far better than the old ally ones that would occasionaly give you a good clout on the nuggin! Be warned though, I know a guy that borrowed anothers rope on a re assesment cert and asumed the loop sticking out the end of the alloy nugget was the terminal loop. It was not and it came umdone from its neatly tucked position and resulted in a rapid decent meeting every ugly branch on the way down. NEVER use anyone elses kit!
  8. Thats the only one im sure of too! that furry blighter looks interesting, maybe some form of mould?
  9. I like a piece of regrowth of around 5ft in length from a coppiced ash, it has to be one of the most resilient and whippy sticks and its just too much to resist, I can hear the squeels from my colleuges, wailing, oh we do like a laff! These things do tend to get out of hand though, but thats when it starts to get interesting! damn those things sting, wish ballistics had rear protection!
  10. MMMmm SWB, having seen Henry again today I think I should pass on his number, hes a really good phsycotherapist and I am certain he can help you resolve your infinate, very complex and deep seated issues! LMAO, and they call me a nutter!
  11. Still gibbon, look on the bright side, remember that in life there are leaders and followers, they being the latter! Does anyone know how much it costs to register a trade mark and or slogan?
  12. Good to see quality work like that, looks like they had recieved a hard prune about 10 12 year ago? Good job
  13. bloody cheek! its late and i cant be bovvered wiff ma spelinn innit! Chondrostereum purpureum
  14. failing that all of the above, there is a distinct possibility of malformed I. cuticularis. sorry to bump just putting another spin on this one cos i cant help myself! and its late and Im bored cos no one wants to play fungi games tonight!
  15. Monkey, that flat look is what a lot of the stereums and even bjerkandera look like before the brackets start to unfold and emerge from the face, a very common theme amoung the Stereums, especialy on the underslung places
  16. It is definatley 100% chondestrum purpureum, but thats a quality image better than any I have, lot of it about at the mo too. tree is obviosly declining for this to be getting a good hold.
  17. Sorry Andy, just had to be done, I wasnt going to let these ametuers get away with thinking they had lunchtimes sorted!
  18. Quality! some things in life are pricless though arent they?
  19. This kind of thing really bugs the hell out of me, start the conversation polite but once hes got shirty its gloves off!
  20. well for a start they aint 20 metres tall! nor 15mtrs! did you mean feet? reduce them by 25% this time allow some regrowth and then youll have better options next prune.
