  1. Sky Huck, double check whether baked beans are permitted, not sure they are. Also as a treat dark chocolate of 75-85% cocoa is 'permissible' No dairy, although I have splash milk in my tea. The best way to go about it I found was read up on the effects of bread, white rice and pasta and potatoes on the digestive system. Once you grasp that you will genuinely not have any interest in them again, and will view it as a lifestyle change and not a fad diet. You can get the same type of carbs from all your vegetables, you just have to eat more of them which is hard to find fault with. If you can cook veg and at worse microwave a sauce of some sort. Worlds your oyster. If you do it proper you hit carb flu after two week, it's memorable fun. Not!!
  2. Havnt read all posts but do not see it as a diet,its a way of life. I posted few onths back about the paleo way,cant remember thread title. Eating out is a doddle swap chip pots for bowl veg,cover in oil or whatever. You do not have to ae totally anal about hunter gatherer only mindset, the sauces arent that detrimental to the benefits. Read up about it. Read about effects of bread on digestive systenm an you can eat brown rice to.
  3. Been on it for 4mths, no longer get sugar highs and lows kike used to from bread. Smoked salmon and scrambled egg brekky yumyum. Lost18lb within 4wk and kept off to..but that was doing arb work and marine training. Sweet potato is another saviour. No mood swings now either through low sugar. All about planning food intake when shopping. Worst case scenario when at work, buy cpack chicken, bag carrots, bit french dressing and some nuts for the whole foods fulfilment. Watch out for 'carb flu' aftertwo - three wks. Proper groggy,but after that its fantastic. You wont loOk back.
  4. We just use butchers back slang. Y-naf, ednolb, Krad riach (hair) tsearbs on the ednolb (breasts on the blonde) if ever you get called a k-cufing reknaw in the retchubs you haven't made a good impression. Retchubs k-cab g-nalls butchers back slang. Have great fun on site and in pubs

  7. Yeah, seaweed is mega. I was down in tenby last week and was eating prawns cockles mussels and welks a plenty. Once you start on it and realise actually how many different types of food there available are you feel positive about it. If you look back at the different eras, the build type and athleticism of the hunter gather is second to none.... in my opinion. As soon as bread and grain was introduced, it would appear(from looking at pictures, before anyone starts picking at the correctness) that the human race bulked out and the digestive system seemed to stodge up. Obviously as with any 'diet' reading up about it first is paramount, but I am seeing it as a way of living life, not a diet. I could have had a members card at greggs the way I was in there every day. Now I shall be taking my own snap to work. It takes a little bit of planning at the shopping stage to ensure you can plan your weeks food and avoid the ease of nipping into greggs and the like, but once you get into it the worlds your oyster.... literally. lol A royal marine PT told me about it, and he reckons that after a month of eating in this way he tried some granary bread toast and bowl of Weetabix for breakfast, he said it went through him like a Porsche, his body just rejected it and he was rough for a good hour or so.
  8. A slice of bread can give you shocking sugar highs. But then when you crash you do it big time. Sugar is deadly stuff. I still have it in my coffee but can get away with it in tea. Energy drinks are hideous, I use to make up my own from a tub of glucose used for cycling. I finished it two weeks ago and wont be buying another.
  9. You would be amazed at the amount of carbs, fibre, etc available in vegetables, fruit, meats and fish. I am trying to eat in a paleolithic way, the paleo diet. Basically if you can hunt it or pick it, its game. It is prior to the creation of agricultural practices, so legumes, potates, dairy are out. I have been eating smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for breakfast. Prawn cocktail or meat salad for lunch and at night I just do not eat the potatoes. Bread and potates are fillers. You can get enough from everything else if you research it or speak to a PT/ nutritionist. I have only been doing it a week and have never felt so energised. And my excrement is now solid and not slop. Bread was my downfall, upto 9 slices a day, not good!!!! Paleo diet!!!! Worth a look. Its something to do with your dna genotype from your ancestry. Apparently I am a protein genotype so my body will naturally reject carbs from legumes and potatoes if given the chance to. Unfortunately as that is all I was eating my body had to make do. However it will utilise far more of the carbs available from other foods available through hunter/gathering type production a lot more effectively.
  10. was talking to stgl mechanic,he said that orientation orf storing/transportation shouldnt matter. Take air filter off and double chaeck if petrol 7comes out of little brass pipe in bottomcorner. If it does fault in carb systen or pipes. Somethng like that though. Really wish stihl would contribute to these discussions. Would be great help
  11. I am currently looking to replace my Makita/Robin/Dolmar hedgecutters. I have always found them to do a nice tight prune on finer material. Have always got better results than with my stihl HS80 and HS85. I put this down to the blade size, cutter speed and how the blades tighten up on the support bar. HS81T is new to stihl range and is marketed for topiary etc, due to the smaller blades and quicker cutting speed. As the current Makita etc do not have anti V's fitted I am considering the HS81T. Has anybody used them. Even better if you used to use the Makita etc and have converted, how did you find the HS81T in comparison. This is not a question in relation to the HS81R.   12. I use a gomtaro, Its ok. Reason I havn't changed is because their not cheap, so to just throw away handle etc seems daft. Was in lidl buying a £20 bench vice to put on the van and they had folding pruning saws for 2.99. I bought a couple to try. At that price I couldn't complain. Will see how they go. Having literally that day just put new gomtaro blade on, at 25 plus vat I thought would see how the 2.99ers faired. If only for root pruning they may be worth all 299 pennies

At 9mins 20secs the tune makes your hairs stand up on the back of your neck. If you have clubbed you'll know the atmosphere I mean. Don't know how to uplink from emails. This may not be for all. But I want to go out partying now. lol
  20. Definitely on the way home... Have had these type of chats and they can take a few days to settle back to normal, don't want a 100 mile trip back after a grouchy day. Corr I don't envy you..... Make sure you have your silky to hand incase he turns on you!!!!
  21. Agree with the pleasant staff bit. I often comment on how staff should be around clients. Pleasant and conversant, but in a micro company the loss of bread and butter work as per this situ can be significant over the course of a year... Burn him.... Live or die????: Die!!! thumbdown:

Regardless of whether you said to client you could look at sending apprentice up at weekend and he deemed it as fairplay to tap up said person, possibly even claiming to have got the wrong end of the stick with what you said, In my opinion, and that's all it is, the lad should have said to you about it and asked did you mind. He either didn't ask because he genuinely doesn't see any harm in such activities, or he knew it was slightly off to do such activities after work and was being sly. Minority ruin for majority again im afraid and id deem it the latter. But that's just my opinion. Next time you do a big fell, leave a high stick, then burn him on the stake...... Yeah... Yeah ......Yeah... Peasent trying to move in on the squires trade.... Boooooo... Hiissssss!!!
  23. Shame to judge the situ from the outside, but id say hes more than likely been tapped up by the client. Whilst working there they may have asked him to log it up at weekend for a few bob. Hes agreed and it goes from there. Sack him and the customer will find out and deem you an arse and wont use you again. Although they seem to have replaced you already for the type of jobs they need doing for now. When having a break next, drop a few lines in about a carpenter mate who has just had 'this situ' done to him, and say that you told him if it was you they had done it too you would knock the muck out of him. May make him think twice about doing the dirty on the hand that feeds him. Presuming you provide reasonable working conditions and adequate pay for experience and contributions to the company of your staff then you are, in my opinion, within your moral rights to be miffed at such activities Unfortunately its the problem with having pleasant staff that converse well with clients etc. It often leads to this type of conversation occurring in my experience. Another thing that I never do is give out numbers of known 'grounds maintenance' people, lads, companies that I know to my regular customers when they ask if I know any to do the lawn etc. Hedgecutting gets done first, then in the winter they are at the treework. If you look after your customers then why shouldn't you protect their future business with you. One thing for sure, if it was me, my working relationship with said person would not be as strong as before I knew about this. Every time they converse with customer id be thinking... oi!!!! get out of it and find something to do. From there its a slippery slope. But that's just my opinion.
  24. I think that what jonny walker was implying was that if someone is giving something away free of charge, they are hardly likely to chase you to get rid. So by asking him to contact you, it may result in you not obtaining/acquiring said free logs, and maybe he was implying that you may get a better result if you pm'd or better still rang the number provided by original poster and did the leg work instead.
  25. A little bit of pre-reading by consumer, and assistance from a knowledgeable plants person should result in right tree right place. Hopefully this will enable the tree to provide its qualities as the required benefits of the owner and still enable a retained tree that does not need cyclical maintenance.
