  1. earlex wall paper stripper or a unit from a sauna
  2. I noticed at apf that either jones or oregon had the one I use. Mine had stubai or something on the handle. The handle is red and made of metal. I think the long one was £39 at apf. I have a feeling it was swiss made and keeps a point for months we use it for rolling cord and dragging rings about.
  3. If you do fancy a tele I would go for a jcb 525 around 1988 basic no joy sticks or fancy electronics. Had one for about 5 years bearly put a spanner to it. Should find them for 3.5 to 5k
  4. I find ash burns even faster than beech and leaves no bottom in the stove ?
  5. Some people love oak some dont. I dont think anyone would complain if it was mixed with beech and ash and would make a better easier to light fire. Timber over 20" in diameter is alot of hard work for firewood. I prefer to buy in as I cant afford to collect free firewood normally if that makes sense.
  6. A cubic metre of wood will cost them £30 + cost to process + £50 for pallet freight. Not trying to be funny just pointing out that the margins on firewood quickly get eroded when you break or replace your toys and up the real costs.
  7. Thanks for your reply Wessex deliver to me already but are very busy with their 8 wheeler. Looking for a bit extra.
  8. You win. You can supply the logs can we do the kindling.
  9. Just fill up with regular shell it has all the addative packs you need. And it wont kill your nice new common rail engine. With ijection pressures of 30,000 psi leave it alone.
  10. Its good fun pulling a 3.5 tonne loaded trailer away even on a slight slope. That would be why the clutches go.
  11. I found the L200 had a poor gear change, soft uncomfrtable seats and revved like mad. Friend who helps me out in the business bought a 53 plate one about two years ago with genuine 43k unmarked throughout. Luckily he had a Mitsubishi extended warranty because the engine let go and the bill for the engine came to £4000. He sold it about 6 months ago because he just did not trust it to stay together long term. My Landcruiser does not leak oil and its rotting underneath
  12. I run and have run alot of jap stuff alot of them are worst than Landrover. Things are not what they were in the 90's
  13. I will match that stack the logs and bring them their slippers
  14. Have a 53 plate commercial disco in august it had 130000 on the clock now 136k 6000 miles in a month. Ran like a watch. 30 mpg loaded to the roof driven hard. They are gutless low down because you need to rev them. If you look at the tacho you will see you are trying to pull away at 1000 rpm. Rev them and they sound harsh nature of the 5 cyl beast I am afraid. Drive it like you stole it and the mpg is still good its not a slogger. TD6 vastly better car but heavier on fuel and not perfect and alot more dosh and looks like a transit connect. Dont buy one unless its got the plastic lights thats when they sorted all the problems. No offence intended to anyone just what I found I wont be selling mine anytime soon.
  15. Point taken. I will call it arb arisings. Problem is I cant get hold of either and given the choice would you pay the same for mixed twisty stuff or 24 tonnes of straight 10" beech harvested from a forest. I have had transits show up with 1/2 tonne of willow twigs and asking for £70. I would be happy to have a deal with a tree surgeon who has no interest in firewood But I find if they got oak and beech on they will pass the gate willow and less desirable species they swing in.
  16. I have a large customer base who have been fed Beech. Because I buy in all my cord I may aswell process what people want. I have nothing against other species but if I take in arb waste we get willow chestnut and birch. I assume people keep the best stuff back. I have found the customer will pay a good price for dry seasoned beech.
  17. They may not be trying to under cut you. There is not alot of profit in logs and they could be ringing to find out if they can put their prices up. If one person in your area was bold enough to be 25% higher you may find everyone will follow suit. Logs are in huge demand and are imo a bargain. Most people running log businesses are friendly even on your door step if you get into a price war all that happens is your customers get cheap logs.
  18. Now I know your price I am going to undercut you, free bag of kindling with every order and we will deliver 5 1/2 miles for free.
  19. I have nothing to hide its £346 a cu:lol:bic metre free delivery up to 5 miles extra £100 if you want seasoned.
  20. Our mk4 1998 td hilux drinks a bit . Worst on a run than around town does 25 mpg on both.
  21. 2 cu metres for £160 doing 10 - 15 loads a week even in aug sep will be sold out in a few weeks unless I can get some ash in for christmas. Depends what your local area can stand. we buy our timber in and 1.5 cu metre cost me £50 inc vat and thats without the petrol diesel gas oil bar oil chains wear and tear and the 2 hours of labour. Where abouts are you and how many loads can you do for us.
