  10. I just got my 550 and although not run in im not sure about the startup on it. Great once it gets going but when you do the starting procedure the first time, it is really hard to get it to rev up and dies. try it again and be really agressive with it and you get her going. Seems like she hates running cold and just runs sweet when hot. not sure if this is right or not. Other than that i love it. not run in yet as only on 3rd tank of fuel. anyone else had this prob?
  11. got gennys and work lights but ppl in farm house get iritated with them running frequently
  12. I currently have my gear stored in a shipping container and has no power in it nor does the farm yard outside it have lighting so its really starting to get boring putting the chipper away by torch light amongst other things, I also need space to put my logs. Does anybody know of any nice little workshops tucked away that I might be able to rent and also log space to rent. I am in winchester so needs to be fairly local. Any leads would be grately received. Pete
  13. Are there any freelance climbers who fancy doing a day for me shortly. Based in Winchester. Could lead to more work as my workload picks up. PM detail or give me a call on 07789644322. Cheers
  14. My dad has a jonsereds 621 in mint condition which he bought new in the mid 70's. I must say the build quality is amazing even by todays standards. lovely plodder to use and been cleaned after every use and kept in the cupboard under the stairs.
  15. Dean.... Is this likely to cure my irratic running problems? Previous owner changed the diaphragms on mine and iv changed the tank breather assembly but runs fine for maybe 2 mins sometimes 10 seconds before it sounds like its starving of fuel? Runs fine at full bore.
  16. I have sharpened them in the past with a diamond grinding wheel on a 4.5 inch angle grinder. Does tyhe job just fine. Can do this several times before they need bidding or re-tipping.
  17. More and more ppl I know are going for trousers that just have front protection. Nice idea, very light trousers but I cant help but feel more vulnerable without the all round protection. I need to get a new pair of trousers soon but should I move with the times and get type A's or stick with what I know and keep the all round protection? My main concern with just front protection is that if you catch it with the saw it will pull the trouser leg round and expose an unprotected part of the trouser. Discuss please.
  18. How about all the employers you do contact who dont even have the common courtesy to acknowledge your existence!!!!!!........nothing said about that is there!!!!!!!!

  20. Hi guys, Seen as most of my gear got nicked last week and insurance has not been processed yet, is there anybody around winchester who would be willing to lend me a top handled saw for half or maybe a full day this coming wednesday. Would be grateful if anybody can help. Cheers Pete
  21. Hi Chris. Its pete yeates, we met the other day when I was tagging along with blake and we picked up that little grinder. Im over at sparsholt very near the college. The busted through and 8mm plate lock box by just crow-barring the hell out of it till the welds broke. Think they came in a car as nthey only took the small stuff but im sure they will be back now they have seen the chipper in there. A silver late '90s audi estate was cruising round the other day and a white tranny asking for storage.
  22. Had my container done over last night guys. They took a husky 372xp 24in bar, 200t, ms260 and a br600 blower. Strangely they left everything else. Think they are coming from a gypo camp near tadley or reading. PPl getting done on a daily basis down here. Let me know if you hear of anything. I know I'm not goin to see the gear but any leads on who or where these ppl might be hiding would be apprieciated. I can take it from there.
