  1. Hi guys Am looking for some work in the south. Based in Hampshire but will go to neighbouring counties. Self employed. Looking for something freelance style. Have a bit of work for myself but need a few more days each week to make things up. Have climbing tickets, Chapter 8, Insurance, van, chipper, saws, lowering kit etc etc. Will quite happily ground for someone or a bit of climbing. Any work or leads would be greatly appreciated. Inbox me or contact on 07789644322. Email: [email protected] Cheers Pete

  3. Morning chaps Have a job to do this Saturday but both my guys can't make it. Would anybody like a days work in the winchester, Hampshire area. Inbox me or give us a shout on 07789644322. Cheers Pete
  4. Try employing some Polaks for the bigger stuff. They are stupidly strong and work far harder than I ever will and also they are cheap compared to a processor.
  5. Morning guys. Due to unforeseen circumstances that can't be helped I need a climber for a day this Saturday for a job in winchester Hampshire. Job is fairly straight forward. If anyone can help then pls inbox me or callor text 07789644322. Any help would be much apprieciated.
  6. Yeah i seen a couple. Dont know of many ppl who have them. Not entirely sure what the bloke selling it is all about judgeing by his description. Doesnt sound like a pro. The chipper will be a good bit of kit though.
  7. Ok. Good advice, i can see your point with the inch thing. On that basis then is there a more accurate way to price the stumps without bringing too much guess work into it. Obviously fuel and teeth have to be taken into consideration anyway. So far I have measured all the stumps, adding up the total in inches and going by £2.50 per inch. Should i be allowing more or reducing price due to the number there are. I do want to get the job however imo there is a lot of work there so dont want to get my fingers burnt.
  8. I am in Winchester Matt. Rhys, can you pm me with what sort of price you and your machine would be for a day please.
  9. Guys I have 14 stumps to come out between 30 and 40 inches. I'd like to know if i can hire a bit of a bad boy for this job ie carlton 4012 minimum sort of size, bigger if possible (even a tractor at a push). I need to know what, if anything I can get my hands on before i put the price in. Also would £2.50 and inch be too much for this many stumps? Have done plenty of grinding in the past but this is the first serious job i have quoted myself. If anybody can help in anyway then that would be most apprieciated.
  10. Oh and if it is a very quiet rd then i dont think you need to notify them but might be worth a call just to give them a heads up
  11. At the very least i would cone off carriageway directly under the tree, giving yourself room to work and probably get away with a chap with a stop/go board if it is as quiet as you say. I cant stress enought that you do need to make some sort of effort with the traffic management as I myself cut corners once and the first car round the corner was the cheif highways officer. He was less than impressed with my minimal efforts and proceeded to throw the book at me and my mate.
  12. i am a climber who volunteered as a tree warden for my parish council. To be honest i am disappointed by my role. I was led to believe that thay would look to me as a person of knowledge and experience in the industry and to advise them on certain aspects but not to have authority as a to would. fine. However when i do advise them on situatiuons we enter into a game of pass the buck or i don't really care. So nothing actually gets done until its too late and it snaps off and crushes somthing. then they are quick to complain. Also tried organising talks or walks to try and educate ppl but fopund most ppl thought they were too good for it and very poor response, which is a cryin ass shame cos my area has some awesome specimins. Shame no one is interested they don't know what they are missing
  13. will take some pics today if iv got time
  14. Just dug out my old 380 cd from the garage today. omg how heavy. hadn't set eyes on this for years. Any way with ancient petrol, i kid you not....5 pulls and it burst into life. wow. Anyway. don't really know much about the saw. never seen another so must be fairly rare. Rumour has it that it was husky's flagship saw back in the day. Anyway, if anybody knows a bit about it or any experience with one or anything then feel free to post away. Might sell her if sombody in collectors corner was particularly interested. Anyway be good to hear anything from you guy's.
  15. thanks chaps. ok il put it on there. i agree that it was agood saw in its day. lets face it if it was that good id keep it. i do have a new husky after all. cheers.
  16. hi chaps. ok i have a stihl 038 av super and am in the proccess of sell ing it. So on that basis i thought even before i put an add in the classifieds id just ask if there was anybody that was particularily looking for one. Id rather sell it on here to sombody in the industry than put it on ebay and have some pikey scum **** get his hands on it. S if there is enough interest and ppl make the right kinda offers then i will put some pics up etc. Imguessing ti is one of the earlier saws by the shape of the chainbrake. Saw has had a very easy life judging by the fact that the chain at tho mo is a round ground chisel and i think most ppl stopped using them around about the fall of the roman empire. Have put new av mounts all round on it and serviced it. Chain is sharp but to be honest bar and sprocket are past their best. Carb settings made spot on. Starts better than my new husky 372. Not used it much myself but rather sombody else gets use out of it rather than sitting in my garage. Any ideas suggestions or comments welcome. cheers
  17. hey will. yeah your college instructor gave me your number on here the other day. out of all the ppl who have replied i think you would be first choice as im guessing your local and i am hearing good stuff bout ya. Would be good to know what kinda money you are asking per day. Slight change of plan at the mo. Wanted to get a climber for a big job coming up to help out ya know that sort of thing, but customer insists on paying for a monster mewp to do the job so an extra climber probably ain't necessary this time around which is a bit of a bummer cos was hoping to use you but will keeps all ya details for close reference. cheers will. pete x

  18. hi chaps. Am looking for a freelance climber to do a bit of work for me now and then. Somebody in the hampshire area would be good cos i am near andover. Will pay good money for good ppl. If anybody is interested or has any queries then pls pm me or leave contacts details here or something so i can get hold of you.
