  1. Just run it on red. The chances of anyone checking a mog are slim but I expect someone will pipe up in a minute and say theyve been checked. The fine isnt much anyway and for all the years you run it on white you will have paid much more in fuel than the avtual fine. If you do get stopped just plead that it was an ag vehicle so you thougt it was ok. Lets face it your not going to jail for it are you.
  2. I made my own after seeing the stein one and could see some design improvments and also i couldnt justify the massive price tag for what it was. Will post some pics when i get a chance but basically made it to fit thought a gate but also make maximum use of load space whilst keeping it light enough to chuck on truck easily. And it only took 4 hrs of my time to make start to finish. Hence why I couldnt justify the price of the stein one and im buggered if im going to fuel their extortionate profit margins.
  3. Evening chaps, As the title suggests I need an extra pair of hands this thursday in winchester. Pm me or give us a call on 07789644322 Cheers Pete

  5. Evening chaps, My dad is about to dig out his '73 621 to ring up some beech. Now the original user manual states it should be run on 16:1......Wow thats rich I thought but it did come from an era when oil technology wasnt that great and also i think it may have a cast iron bore instead of nikasil plated. So I told my old man i'd mix him up a 25:1 mix using some of my fully synth oil, the only thing that crossed my mind is that being an old saw, fully synth oil might not be the best to use in it and I perhaps should use some sort of vintage 2t oil. Thoughts on this matter pls? Many thanks Pete
  6. It is and it isn't a scam in my opinion. Yes they do send you leads which do cost money. I'm not convinced they dont send out fake details that you have no chance of contacting. That said I have had some good jobs from it but as a percentage wise the vast majority of ppl requesting work are timewasters and want the job done for next to nothing. I get very few of the jobs I quote for even if i trim the price right down which i dont like doing anyway. If you do go for it then make sure your working area radius is very local otherwise they'll have you chasing all over the place and emptying your bank account in return.
  7. As the title suggests. Need a hand for a day planting with a tiny bit of brash dragging near winchester hants. Pm or call 07789 644322

  10. Evening chaps. To top off and already bad job, I've had the clutch go on the chipper today. The job is in thatcham near newbury and I need someone with a big chipper around the 12 inch mark and either a 7.5 tonner or alike to help me shift whats left on the ground. Will be multiple loads of chip but have a tip site 10 mins away. Please call me asap on 01962 776258 or msg me on here oh did i mention i was borderline desperate?
  11. I had a very similar scenario where a customer wanted the conifer topped "at the same height as the lamp post" so we did! Then to be greeted with "you haven't touched it! look the lamp post is way lower!" so i reply " yes madam thats cos its the other side of the road and will clearly look lower when viewed from your driveway" So she refused to pay unless we took more off. So the way I saw it I was left with 3 options. 1: Bite my tounge, walk away and get no money 2: Burn the cows house down. 3: Bite my tounge, smile and go back and do it all again and get paid. Tough one!
  12. Evening chaps, Could do with a climber to lend a hand this coming Friday in Winchester, Hampshire. Nothing too taxing. Either inbox me or try me on 07789 644322 daytime or 01962 776258 evening. Thanks Pete
  13. Had crossed my mind about that. Not sure if that would be covered under a "contract lift".
  14. Sorry location is Winchester so fairly close to you John. I was present on someone elses job with King and their driver was top notch.
  15. Evening chaps. Has anyone got and views/experience with crane hire companies as I am looking to use one for a potential job. I know most of the usual companies by name but was really after any first hand experience with them ie: good planning and safety, helpfulness and a sensible price for what they are offering. Not necesarily interested in the cheapest but more so on what they have to offer

  18. Expensive waste of money. Payed a huge amount to be in top 5 of their listings, very rarely actually there and only ever had 1 call off of it and he was a knob. Cancelled everything and threatened legal action. soon got my money back.
  19. Thanks chaps. Will give those things a go.
  20. I have a 3 yr old single sided echo hedge cutter which starts fine on full choke but when you try to pick the revs up and ease it off of choke it dies. Carb is immaculate inside, loads of compression. Any ideas as i'm a bit stumped on this one.
