    Agency Work

their not even clever about it.
  2. gotta be no front windscreen or it takes 3 to drive the thing and they just sit in the cab while its loaded and unloaded around them.
  3. DSC03351 | Flickr - Photo Sharing! or the next size up ute..
  4. Good luck invest as much as you can afford into a sound career base tickets qualification gear, thats where I went wrong, lots of experence, not much else in my bag. my resume dos'nt look so smart 10 years later. only 4 years spent in my career. my biggest mistake was being too arrogant, I made it clear that the only work I enjoyed was the climbing and groundy jobs. that anoyed a few boss's, and I lost work with one fantastic company because of it, many regrets, although I was fully willing to do what I called gardeners work,I was'nt able to pretend I enjoyed it. I rang every one in the Yellow pages in norfolk, and talked to them on the phone, I kept a note book of all the people I talked to and what they had said or offered, and I sent CV's out, of the 5 who gave me a chance, 1 of them wanted a CV and 1 of them wanted an informal interview, so talk to people, call them back, make them rember who you are. College is a great place to get useful contacts when your doing your tickets. Good Luck.
  5. Bike camper http://sparcegarments.wordpress.com/2009/11/22/camper-bike/
  6. Daihatsu Hijet 1.3 M - Luton Box Pasar Malam 2006 - Other Vehicles for sale Kuala Lumpur - Mudah.my What about one of those here's one already a box van, I think my GF would like the look of the finished product "cute" if thats a consideration for buying a ute. the fun looks good especialy with the removable bulk head, we could have a crawl through from the cab to the camper. As for light if this guy can build a bicycle camper then we can do this. god these links are long I wish I new how to change that, I recon steel frame base to keep it rigid with a wood frame above the tray level to keep it light. thanks guys.
  7. I had an old lap top and when I put a mouse in, the touch pad still worked anoying, I just stuck a peice of ice cream tub plastic over the top, with some tape, that worked and used my mouse.
  8. I use those yellow riggers on the ground for the harder stuff and rubber ellastic engeneers gloves in the tree and some times on the ground, I get about 2 weeks out of the rubber gloves $5 and the riggers last for ever, I tried gill they lasted about 20 day climb and ground, I got some that had a leather palm but a MTB or sailing glove style ellastic back, they used to cost about 7 pounds from B&Q, and lasted a month ground and climb. B&Q Men's Premium Task Work Glove, 0000003710449 As for value, I was'nt disapointed in the 2 pounds a day the gill gloves cost me they were awesome in the tree. so I say its horses for courses.get two different pairs.
  9. Hey guys I’ve been mulling this one over for a while, I was wondering what those skoda felicia Utes are like? When I get back to the UK. I want a work vehicle and a "really nice" roomy camper van not saw dust and fuel infested, my Girl Friend will need a normal car for the work she would like to do, so that rules out a transporter or vito van diy camper conversion for her to drive special needs kids around in. So I thought an older Skoda Felicia Pickup with a Home made box van style slide on camper, not pop top (too cold). I can pretty much build the whole slide on my self and it can un bolted and be taken off for work, and the Ute be fitted with a large lockable tool boxes. for my climbing kit and saws, I don’t need or want to tow anything with it and I don’t want to chip into it as I am just going to groundy and climb like always, so its just a kit Ute.. I could also consider a VW but they have got to fashionable of late so I think that would affect the price as there are fewer non pimped models about, or is there a solution to my situation I haven’t thought of, I did think about a Transit with B&Q Summer house on the back but I want a car like pick up. Cheers Vince..
  10. A.T coombes, Eden tree and hedge care, John Dix, , were companys who employed me back in 2007 I only had a ground chainsaw ticket, and my kit at the time, AT employes subies like Daren french tree menders so he may beable to put you onto some one else. I went through the entire yellow pages up to 30 miles out of norwich, Walkers have have mixed report, but they used to do utilitys works, out of attlebrough, I wanted domestic, so I never rang them. Another thing, a bunch of different Norwich tree companys workers and boss's mostly conected through easton or work used to meet up usualy at the fat cat every couple of months, if you could find out if that still goes on eden, or john might know, that might help. Good Luck. Also the arb teachers out at easton college were also helpful
  11. :biggrin:Ive been in an out of tree work for about 5 out of the last 10 years, climbing and ground, I started out working for the tree specialist australia powerline clearence, then moved to the UK went to college, worked in North Wales and then in Norwich, I was lucky to find good small opperators to work for and with, who gave me a lot of really good experience. Never wanted to run my own company, all i ever want to do is climb, after another 2 years carreer break, in the YHA, better money, I am back working 2 months for a mate who started in tree work the same time I did. he now has his own tree company in NE Victoria. I am now wondering at 31 where I am going to push my climbing career next, do I work for small companys and get loads of little back yard Climbing, or do i go to a bigger company do loads of ground work to learn about big rigging, and crane jobs which I have zero experience in, or do I get into the compitition climbing, which Ive always wanted a go at. or should I go back to college to sharpen my tree knowlege, exciting times. one thing I know is that climbing makes me happy to be alive and at work. and I look forward to the challanges it will bring.
  12. mmm I liked my 200T, even though I cracked the muffler in half, broke and melted the cover, I could'nt really blame stihl for any of that, just a bad swing, on a bad day. the changes look good, proof of the pudding will be when it used day to day. only cost me 80 pounds to fix that and a bunch of other stuff due to poor up keep. oh look <<<<< there it is. good saw sad to part with it. but that means I get a new one when I get back
  13. :confused1:I thought in the current finantial climate you have had to have cut back on your poseing. I know i cant afford it any more.
  14. :lol:brilliant! rat risoto:001_rolleyes:
  15. 260 dito great saw, not had a problem with mine. my top handle 200T also great. husky 357 good engine but the plastics pull chord oiler screw, av mounts and more kept breaking. will the college not hire kit? buy a copy of the tree climber companion. start really simple on kit, cause then you can learn what works for you and what dos'nt then when you have more experience, and money then you can invest the money on the fancy pants stuff some of the guys on here have. me my kits just various prussocs carabinas and ropes/wire core flip line a harness I brought in australia, few slings, a cambian saver, I always have a sliky hand saw on board and a good quality throw line and bag for instaling rope from the ground. helmet is just an old sthil forestors helmet.
  16. I dont know how to convince them? its power in numbers, it aint gunna happen. I'm an atheist.
  17. I'm more worried about over population of the earth than I am about climate change. I for one... wont be having children, "if you want to do something for future generations dont have them"
  18. Ive been away from australia since 2003, havent worked in trees in aus since 2002, going back for 2011. What tickets are required to climb and do companys still accept uk nptc tickets? just wondering?
  19. get the nptc tickets, you will be unlikely to find work with out them, I a made the mistake of doing a college arb course, I enjoyed the theory and got a lot from it but I dont think it got me a lot of work. good luck.
  20. I was thinking that, not that well I spose.wonder if it would slip out or actualy crush?
  21. mmm I dont know what that proves I once knew a guy who said it was ok to push the brash into a chipper with his boot, because the chipper only chips wood. so I guess it proves that you can split other stuff with a log splitter.
  22. mmm just had poridge for breakfast, mmm lunch sounds good.
  23. I am for my sins guilty of repolarding on of my parents liquidamber with one of those.
  24. Sthil they dont need as much matinence, but i loved 357s the ballance was brilliant and realy ergonomic, but I soon got used to my own sthil, my boss sold me, so now i love that saw although it feels a bit clunky think its a 260 long time since ive had a proper look at it, ive hardly replaced anything when I was borrowing huskys every week a bit of plastic or metal would break.
  25. My back hurts from being on this site.. is this getting old?
