  2. i use the endoscope all the time before removing limbs with cavities etc or monoliths......do all the bat forms etc etc.......i also try and retain as much potential habitat features as possible........obviously i'm a little removed from where the decision makers reside so a little unsure of the protocol/beaurocracy.

  6. Is that standard practice David with regards the permissions for bringing the height down.......would that be the same for us??? I took loads down last summer.

  8. revive the thread with a few......trying to keep to trees but slipped a couple of others in........my favourite birch i've come across i think.......the oak's a pretty special tree though. one me lad......and couple in bristol.

  13. Just came across this box set of dvd's...........looks really interesting. Anybody seen them? Spirit of Trees Wild Trees of Britain and Ireland

    did think that........will possibly send a sample to the ecologist in the park.......he deals with all the red list data stuff and general fungi records.

  19. Not a clue what this old fruiting body is......found today on a vet oak.:confused1: any hints would be much appreciated........
  20. started the new veterans work list today......real mixed bag, retrenchment, pruning, haloing, general reductions, tip prunings etc. Todays job.....stabilise major deadwood on this vet and prune back the canopy of the competing oak...... a couple of randoms from the park also.
