Tis with sadness that i announce the end of this thread. I am moving on to pastures new and have left my employment so subsequently i have my last day working on the trees in Richmond Park. What can i say about this place? Well it has enabled me to learn so much and has certainly iognited what i think will be a long time passion in old trees and associated fungi. It has provided me with inspiratrion and every day i drove through the gates i felt blessed to part of such a rich and diverse place and to be able to work on such fantastic old trees was a privevlege. Was a real wrench giving this up but the deed is done and i am moving to Bristol......I'm already salivating at the thought of exploring the West Country and beyond as I can already see on the maps the expanses of woodlands and deer parks there are for we to visit. In Bristol alone there is Ashton Court and Leigh woods which i'm sure I will be spending many happy days in....... So this diary is over although as i finally get all my photos catalogued and edited I will continue to add photos to this thread to hopefully inspire others to go visit this amazing park if in London at all.

The paper i read today had far more coverage about Norway than Amy Whinehouse.....its the TABLOIDS......dont read them if you dont want to see or hear about celebreties. A life is a life who's ever it is. Amy Whinehouse is still somebodies daughter.....respect should be shown. Equally for those in Norway or indeed anybody who loses their life and leaves loved ones left behind.

Hi David.....the ones at start of the thread were wimbledon common........these ones were Osterley Park.

Came across thes hosted on silver maple.......big old collapsed pollard......must have had about 8 or 9 in all running up the stem.......managed to climb a little way up and then hanging prcariously with arm hooked around epicormic managed to take a few shots.

Another 2 weeks of this bloody nest removal. Over 100 nests we took out today.......mewping and climbing. They have entered their chrysalis stage now so getting ready to fly!! Getting pretty demoralising to tell the truth.

Came across this today........proper failure.!!!! Will now be taking the top out of the remaining stem and having a little tidy up. Will definately be keeping the habitat.
