  1. Nothing wrong with Dangerous Brian! Did you ever hear anyone tell Danger Mouse that he had a bad name? Well except maybe Baron Greenback.
  2. I get on fine with the bungee strop, and have a tool clip on my harness for hanging the saw closer to me. Anyway at your height you shouldn't even need to climb trees! Good luck with the test and welcome to Arbtalk.
  3. Cool, was just thinking seasoning for 7 years was a bit extreme!
  4. When your sons night time story is from the Collins tree guide book. (he's only 4months old) When you spend 5mins looking at your wood pile after walking the dog. When you try and justify buying a new axe even though you already have 5. When you sit up like a meerkat when you hear a chainsaw start up on your turf. When most of your neighbors trees have been worked on by you!
  5. Yeah am the same I have about 8 apple trees, pear tree and a plumb tree. The apple crop is about the same 60 - 70% down, the plumb tree is way down compared to previous years. And our damson tree has died. The wife wont be making as much chutney this year.

That's why I will never go on a cruise!
  7. I cleared a lot of shrubs in front of a clients house last week and what a view that has given them. It was a horrible job though so they better enjoy it.
  8. Why does the date on the pictures say 2003?
  9. is this classed as high jacking a thread?
  10. Your best bet is to wheel in Ironside.
  11. Maybe this guy is a serial tree killer and is responsible for all sudden tree deaths. A lot of my neighbors trees have died suddenly and its a bit of a mystery. They all have died after I have worked on them I am known as the Jessica Fletcher of the tree world.
  12. Hi and welcome to Arbtalk. Why do you think the guy next door killed your trees? Do you not get on with each other? From what I understand I think it is rather hard to poison a tree unless you know what your doing. ( am sure more experienced arbs will be along to tell you how it could be done) He could ring bark it but am sure you would have caught him doing that. Stevie
  13. Probably best contacting a specialist mate. Try these guys. Anthony Dykes Furniture, Loose Covers, Re-Upholstery, Leather, Fabrics, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Ayr & Stirling
  14. Got in there just before me Skyhuck
  15. Sachs Dolmar?
  16. :confused1:
  17. Yeah It was a bit of a trek but am originally from Glasgow so got to see some mates and had a wee holiday away from the wife and kid.
  18. Alright mate did you do your test at Daldowie? If so I was the guy who went before you. Congrats on passing but from what I seen I would have been surprised if you hadn't passed. Stevie
  19. That's very true! But at the end of the day she will still be here when we are long gone.
  20. Listened to this pod cast about the man who cut down possibility the oldest living organism. There are two stories on the pod cast and this one starts at about 14min. http://www.radiolab.org/popup_player/# Here's the wikipedia info about it. 21. Evening all, am looking for a bit of advice on what sort of first aid course I should look at going on. Is the basic first aid adequate for our line of work or should I be looking for a more advanced course? Cheers Stevie
  22. Monkey-Boys (are there two of you???) Don't go cheap! I would recommend Husky 346xp 15" bar Husqvarna 346XP chainsaw - Chainsaw Specialists Great starter saw! I have read and commented on some of your threads and am glad to see that you are no longer writing your threads as if you where txt someone m8! Also I have not seen you talk about what chainsaw trousers or boot you should get! Have you even considered this??? What ever road you go down with your saw please please get yourself proper PPE before even start your saw. If you want to get experience then you have a better chance if your kitted out with your own PPE, spend you money on that and not a saw!
  23. I passed my CS39 last Thursday. Try and go first if you can, you can then get first pick of the tree. If your not happy with a cut then say your going to try it again. And enjoy!
  24. Listened to this pod cast today, the whole show is very interesting and funny. The second story is what caught my attention. WNYC - Radiolab: Oops (September 03, 2010)
