  12. that does sound cheap, all depends on your overheads etc, if your confident that your supplying a good product & already have a good client base maybe you should consider a small price increase?? living costs increase all the time, why shouldnt yours!! explain to the customer why you have needed to increase the costs, most will understand, do you supply kindling?? ive found supplying both really helped, kindling sold with firewood got me more new customers than any advertising, funny old world!!!!!!!!!!!

  17. awww, BIG J, if your wife is bad with an axe then dont let her near a splitter!! ladys with not much 'co-ordination' are best left stacking whilst you split the wood!!!!!!!!!! sorry girls, just my thoughts!!!! safety first an all that!!

  19. wood grenades or an old saw with a ripping chain??? has any one used both against each other?? i prefer to throw the bits i cant split behind the log pile!!!!!!! out of site out of mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. sharp axe wont always help mate, all depends what wood your using!! decent maul axe will make it easy, as said, make the splitting block work with you, not against you, take some time to get it all set up, right height etc, you will be amazed how much wood you can split in a short space of time
  21. do you really need a splitter???, if your only splitting for home use, organise your time better, get the wood split up over a few summer eve's, enjoy a cold beer once done, decent axe is all you need!!!!
  22. should of said.... if your panels have seen better days, use 2 chesnut fencing stakes to each pillar, then wrap the ratchet strap round, it makes the fence panels a lot stronger
  23. i use herras panels in a square, 2 clips on each corner & a long ratchet strap right round them all, also stops the mesh bulging out!!!! 1 panel has a door built in!!!!!
