  1. thanks. the holes are exactly the same as it came out the box. i just cut, drilled a couple of holes in my radio ear defenders bracket to make them fit the helmet holes.
  2. forestry definetly did 2 weeks of it 2 years ago and it was hard full on work not alot of breaks to be had. tree surgery is not as full on least not every job.
  3. finally got round to trying to fit my radio ear defenders onto my new stein helmet. i never understood why stein had to design there helmet so it wouldnt fit any ear defender, it seemed a bit weird to me but i managed to sort it out. it ended up alright works just like it all should so im happy get comfort of the stein helmet and the pleasure of the radio so im happy with it. any of you guys had to do this or is it just me who cant live with them silly wire peltor ear defenders?
  4. the whole day you got to drag the ms200t around a tree catching and wrapping around everything or when your cambium saver gets stuck after a long day
  5. only thing is there is only 3 small companys here they dont employ anyone they just bring people in when they need them. im just going along with it till ive saved up enough money to get tipper and truck. already got a reputation growing from my own little jobs here and there, so soon as i got the money ill set up. hopefully undercut the companys who still have more overheads than me see how it goes. as for going on the doll i wouldnt dream off it couldnt stand that, plus u only get 60 quid a week or something on doll so would be worse off in both ways.
  6. ive got paid 50quid to 70quid max a day for climbing has been the same for 3 years i have all my own climbing and lowering gear 3120xp and 460 husky and ms200t id b happy with 100quid a day but i dout id get paid that if i asked for it
  7. just wondered if anyone else had ever wanted to go all the way around the country, working for a short period with different companys. have always wanted to travel around abit didnt no if any of you guys have done this. thought would be good for people to see how different companys do things, different ways learn new things use different equipment and try all different kinds of work.
  8. proberly worst thing is my hat or forget to take my chainsaw up tree or forget to do up my leg loops
  9. yer pull rope was tensioned and held by a gri gri and it started to go in direction we wanted but thn snaped and went sideways
  10. cuz as ive mentioned we was both 100% sure it was gunna go that way and we both still say it would have gone if the wind hadnt taken hold cuz it started to go direction we wanted i stoped cutting then wind took it towards the road
  11. ill have to look into getting some my self then thing is basically all of my work part frm like 2/3 jobs a year maybe is going work for companys on day rates so dunno hw worth it is getting insurance its complicated grey area that i dont really understand who needs what but thanks for pointing it out

  13. never have bin one for english at school
  14. was working with a guy i do work for who has all the relevent insurance, as for the road we had truck chipper signs and coned off the area but ive definetly learned dont trust the wind and walk away from jobs when i knew it was being done wrong.
  15. alright then cheers i no for next time nw. i was going to dismantle but then we tryed it pullin it through the 4 pulleys then thro gri gri to hold it and we pulled it so far and got it leaning the way we wanted it to go we was 100% certain it was gunna go that way and it did go tht way till the wind came back which would have been half the cause if not all of the cause
  16. well id rather get a lecture and not have it happen again
  17. well not good got roped into doing this job by my dad which he said ooo yer he charges so much a day so i had do it at that price and if id quoted for it i really would have had 2 man team with platform so im not happy cause im outta pocket 150quid getting another guy in with me its on main road right up against insulated electric cable and the tree leans right over road and cable so i climb up it rig it with pull line going throu 4 pulleys to really pull it we pull it over the lean and leaning towards the way it NEEDED to go i put felling cut in it starts to go then suddenly desides snap off and go other way lucky it hardly hit the cable but still landed in road which shook me up alot couse number of things could have happened if it had broke cable then i could have had that wraped around me could have hit a car hit a person on pavement plus all that and guy i was working with desided cut threw my rope with chainsaw then the landy desided have a flat battary so out come AA cuz are jump leads werent long enough and the tree had wasps all over it so overall a pretty rubbish day heres sum pics of the job anyways and the cut which desided to go wrong way
  18. amazing bit of kit would love have one of them only thing is now ive seen that im gunna have this video in my head while im sweating my nuts off splitting wood by hand

  20. had this with my brand new ms200t 6 months from new when i bought it and it wudnt start took then tryed it the next day it worked fine but the following day wouldnt start again so took it to the shop get fixed needed a new carb it was only 6months old
  21. i would have put the "over 26years experience" under the fully qualified & insured" and reorganised the next bit to "a very prompt reliable clean job, for a free competetitve quote please call anytime" and maybe put a logo on there or the nptc logo maybe but they do the job anyway got your name and number and tree surgery so all good
  22. i could do all tht if i put my mind to it honest
  23. lovely job today blue cedar tree dismantle cut and drop every branch chipper and landy right up to it so no draging we always get trees over everything and a very long dragging session to the chipper felled the stem allongside the landy cut up into logs throw it in landy back to unload back with the stump grinder and back in good time to watch golden balls cant get no better
