  1. i used a 45 m one not long back and was about £900 a day with operator. Fantastic machine, the out reach was unbeliveable! and 45 m doesnt sound to high untill u go all the way up and the 18ton lorry looks like a toy beneath u! used a 16m truck mounted yesterday and that was not bad, got higher than the roof of a 4 story building. that was about £300 operate for the day, get them from panther platforms.
  2. has anybody actually got a reversing camera fitted? Keep thinking about it as i have the same issues ( i have to try and visulise how far round it has come, sometimes get it right other time not). I always get someone to watch me back aswell, if i hit something then they r getting the blame/bill!!!
  3. ahh i had a thought in my head it might be something like that but without confirmation i wast happy to go ahead and try it! Thanks. Just out of interest how much play (up and down slack) do u allow in the belts? Cheers Jose
  4. Hi all I have a predator 450 and i need to tighten the belts. Manual i got with it mentions checking the belts are correctly tensiond but nothing on how to actually do it. Mine popped of yestereday, i have put them back on but there is atleast 1 1/2 inches of slack and when engaged they seemed to flap around a bit. Can some one give me a quick breakdown of whats needed to adjust them. Many thanks Jose
  5. call dbm hire in henley, their predator is always breaking down. I am sure they will sell it to you.

As much as i love the job i almost look forward to bad weather so i can try and convince myself that its dangerous and should not be working! funny thing is until seeing this thread this evening i had not even considered that i might be stressed! i got good health ( apaart from some flu this week), 2 healthy kids and a wife who loves me. a successful bussiness with my brother (and get on really well with him to), family all back me up with moral support.

  16. i was in reme for a couple of yrs, as a vm. tbh i saw how slow promotion was for this trade and got to play with some big toys so i thought sod it try something else. 10 yrs on and i still have the tshirt:blushing:
  17. i think his attitude is once hes made the sale he doesnt want anything else to do with it. its only cos his man damaged it on delivery that i even got him to come and look at the machine. (note he lives about 20ft from the workshop) And then he didnt seem to know anything. was more interested in asking me questions and what every answer i gave that was the reason for it not working:sneaky2: the irony is it went in and was working to a certain degree, 2 wks later came back with no hand brake and a flat battery! its not rectified yet, was meant to recieve a call first thing today to let me know whats happening, neadless to say the call still hasnt come. will let you know.
  18. the main reason for my post is more to astabilsh if anybody knows the correct procedure. i have been grinding stumps out for over 10 years from small push along ones to big ones ( preadtor 75). my small one (450) is near enough brand new, not done 10 hrs. it went in to have a hand brakes cable replaced as it was damaged on delivery, they put a new one on and now it doesnt work. the dealer is now trying to blame me saying i damaged it by grinding with the brake on. thing is i check the owners manual and it does not say anything with regards to grinding with or with out the brake on. Basically he is trying to worm out of fixing it. hence why i am asking what others do. the other question was if there was any other adjustment other than the screw uo by the handle. because the dealer and the mchanic dont have a clue and so far have no joy getting the info out of laski.
  19. yep thats what i thought. the dealer i got it off is trying to say it may cause damage, thus laying any posible blame on me! just had a look in the owners manual and it dont say not to gring with it on, then again its a bit vauge with the dos and donts.
  20. YES. if u havent paid yet then dont. pay when u r happy, thats what i tell my customers. look carefully at the wording of there quotation, if it say to clear up all waste then you got a good argument. if it says it does not include the removal of the stump grindings then that side of it u wont win.
  21. hi all i have a preadtor 450 and was chatting to a guy who said that when grinding the hand brake should NOT be on, and it should be held in position by gently applying the forward or backward drive levers. i have always been under the impression that the u position the grinder in the required position, apply the hand brake to keep it in the right place and then grind away. Apparently the 450 is the same machine as the greenmech an another machine, all produced by laski in the checz republic. they just spray it the required colour. Another question, is there any adjustment on the handbrake, apart fron near the top lever(with the big spring). my machine has just had a brand new cable fitted but it does not work at all. many thanks jose
  22. anybody else bought one? we got one the other day for one of our ms200t to compare ( and my brother cant sharpen the saw very well). My opinion- dont get one if you are a professional, ie use saws everyday. The first thing is it feels like you need to take the rakers down. found i kept reaching for the files! doesnt like cutting thin barnches, its ok on the thicker stuff. Once we tried out sharpening it i got to say it didnt cut as good as when we first got it. this is my opinion but i wouldnt buy it again. really ideal for a diy style home garden guy just doing the odd bit of cutting but not for everyday stuff. though i could be tempted to try again if they ever sort it out for use of big saws( hate sharpening the 046 with a big bar on!)

    old harnesses

I tried that idea on the wife but it was a no she said that with all the mirrored glass in the room it would be an accident waiting to happen Yeah i bet you did. you dirty *******! though might make the proposal to my wife later:001_tt2: ok cheers guys. think i will bin them then, otherwise i know one day my harness will be all wet and horrible and they will tempt me:thumbdown:
  24. Is there a use for them once they are done climbing? i got 2 williams harnesses sitting in my garage both are old so i dont use them at all. I will proberly just take them to the dump, its just a small part of me wonders if they could be used somehow safely in a non climbing way i guess. or ami wasting my time and should just get down the tip? cheers
  25. yeah i had similar thoughts. thing with me is i dont trust anyone when they start asking for money. think i will give this one a miss. cheers guys
