  1. So on another note, does anybody use a coos bay when dismantling, say on a horizontal heavy limb? I have never, I just do an undercut, taking out as much of the sides as poss, then a release cut behind the undercut to pop the limb off...
  2. Putting a sink into a heavy leaner will trap the saw.... thus no sink is needed. Its more of a release cut than a felling cut.
  3. Start out like us oldies, and get some 3 strand. Then when you move up to 16 strand, it will feel great!
  4. Tell them the truth, its full of metal! I did a big silver maple, that had a 3 inch metal fence post in the middle. Cut as much wood as I could, (after sharpening the 36 inch bar 3 times!) and the grinder came in and did most of the stump, leaving the metal post protruding nicely. Or just get some dynamite!
  5. I hate the 201. HATE. we got one, then we got our old 200 serviced. The 200 is my go to saw. It feels like the 200 is made of metal, and the 201 made of paper. Black and white.
  6. Ive heard lego have come out with some lego sized crabs mate.... or you could try the new Ken and Barbie range of clip carabiners.
  7. Tony in all seriousness, what is the harm in having heavier versions brought out. I know that on the treehouse this subject has come up.... Really, I would prefer a slightly heavier model....
  8. Yep got a cube to go with my helicopter.... will try out some new line when I return from Florida. All that on my mind now is sun, sea, lobsters and throwline
  9. Mark you never cease to amuse me. Sometimes we cant squeeze the bucket into a back yard.... hence the reason for having to get in a helicopter to drag my ass up into the tree......
  10. Hey Tony, I think I have dynaglide at the moment.... never liked zingit...
  11. Congrats Adam. I got mine sent over from Marl Bolam, he had to have one of those cardigans that Reg wears from over here in exchange.... anyway, first shot, and the line tangled round a sucker... not the throwpods fault, but a jinx nonetheless Used it on a big silver maple, and the weight of the pod was not enough to bring it straight to the ground, it needed alot of bouncing.... Maybe a 12 and a 14 need to be thought about? Definitely an improvement on the projectile no less! Well done guys.
  12. Ali geckos. Velcro upper, leather downer
  13. Just got to Florida. It's only 30 degrees and sunny. And I have to prop up the bar. Oh it's a hard life.
  14. Hey jgreene33, did you give up with the guys on treebuzz then?
  15. You could see it that way... My boss did! What is it with me and older Italian chicks?
  16. Reg I would love to get up there to work. Maybe one day. And BTW Karl Pilkington is a legend. Funniest guy on TV, full stop!
  17. Got a letter delivered to Treewisemen HQ today. We had deadwooded two nice big oaks on the lady's property a few weeks back, then won a job next door to her. Anyway, little touches like this make the job even more rewarding. Happy day!
  18. Sup Nick! Welcome to AT. Groovy baby.
  19. Reg Ive had teeth problems lately too! Two new crowns on the front, $1800! Make sure you get to a good dentist and get it sorted...
  20. Actually reg, I think you needed Jared to fell that spar, he would have missed the tripod! Haha
  21. Cool mate. Good production! Shame about the tripod eh? Hows the broken tooth doing?
  22. Mosquitos are the main problem we have here, along with greenhead flies, big mofo's similar to horse flys, they hurt! And they are hard to kill. Evil!
  23. Blake's hitch! Why over complicate things?
  24. Good point Pete. Yes that crane was creaking on those last two lift. Scary! Job done and every one left site in one piece which is what matters!
  25. Lets not start harping on about zigzags again eh....
