  1. Isn't the world an awesome place (most of the time) I've got my own little collection of themed perspective photos going on at the mo (i can't say what it is yet as its top secret haha) but once i have some more i will post.. oops derail sorry:blushing: back to london... 8 million is that not too many, oop north we don't even have that many people in single counties haha!! if you had one fave pic of london town what would it be?
  2. you think? surely if a good job has been done it's good to post!
  3. when you look at these pics, london town doesn't look that big!!
  4. To thin or reduce urban trees, that is the question haha! i ask because its good to get other peoples opinions as the LA i work for like to thin a lot...
  5. nah i think you just like touching trees up!
  6. Mmmm the question sounded better in my head haha! I agree, leave the tree alone, but and its a big but, trees where/are generally planted in the wrong place and need to be tended too, not a specific tree, any tree. What i'm trying to say is if you were to go inspect a tree which someone had complained about, or had grown out of place, which would be better a 20% thin or 20% reduce from the tips or 30% thin or 30% reduce from the tips etc etc just trying to gauge different peoples opinions on the subject of urban trees
  7. You don't half get some good looking jobs ace:thumbup: Nice pics again!
  8. Overall which technique do you think is better for the tree, a thin or a reduce, depending on the % of course..!
  9. haha! cool:thumbup: has he got trainers on??
  10. do you replenish tree stocks for the ones you have taken out? nice pics btw, but wheres the PPE?
  11. Not really, been to plenty european capitals but never ours?? I must visit sometime!
  12. Is HH ( i take it thats hampstead heath) nice then? I've never been to the capital..!
  13. Again Dean, not my call..! Apparently they were blocking some CCTV cameras, but the only cameras we could see where further up on the buildings behind rather than near the trees? The TO decides whats what and we just do the work, tis what happens at an LA, one day, i'll have my own way haha!
  14. RobArb

    work

    yep, see general tree pics
  15. some of today's jobs supposed to be a 50% thin on a birch i prob took it to 35%. Also i 50% on a cherry this time hit it harder, forgot to take a before pick but it was pretty thick (oh and i did the one on cherry on the left in the 10th pic, not the other one)
  16. I just follow orders and specifications, not my position to say! I turn up, do the job, and go home, get paid at the end of the week and start again! TO decides whats what.
  17. you right, with less twists though and a slightly different half hitch finish, similar non the less!
  18. is that the sequel to 'you've got mail'?
  19. i look at the tree and the crown, split it into tenths (the crown normally) and work out the percentage, i then knock that amount off from the tips (visually) pick my anchor point, and get to work!
  20. maybe it ended up about 30%ish, but i do agree (only a good thing), cherries aren't the best for being reduced..
  21. mmm me thinks a mission has been set!!
  22. it was starting to rain:blushing: haha! tis just a pain trying to nibble the tips when the tips DON'T want to stay still and like 54' in each direction!!
