  3. Yep, not good for heavy towing,1100kg braked max i think, does fine with my tw125 chipper.
  4. good seasoned h/w logs will now be at a premium,£90 a cubic yard is not too much for the work involved in my opinion, folk just don't understand the costs and investment while seasoning involved.
  5. I drive a little suzuki jimny when I just need my climbing kit and a couple of saws,it will go places a bigger motor wont, outside of a landy, very light footprint, total reliability, take it easy and you can get 40miles/gal,and they are not expensive to buy or service. Just an alternative.

  9. I just go on the scrounge for non returnable pallets at the builders merchants, use them for the base & sides,a couple on top under the sheeting to keep the air circulation going. Costs about nothing.
  10. Drill a hole in the sink and fit a waterproof natural light near the plug hole ,would make a great reflector to top up the old vit D!
  11. How about tie bundles of it up,transport it that way if it won't chip. long shot, offer it to a zoo?

  16. You MUST be a computor nerd!
  17. Not naive to that down here Steve,I'm lucky,Ihave been both sides of the fence.New thead potential here, 'should an old pollard be left to detiorate,or be beligerantly hacked?' You make a valid point here I.M.O.
  18. I may be wrong, but trees can maybe be capable of self pollarding. but surely those that we have inflicted coppice and pollard upon through our endeavours, both past (for a product), and modern, maybe a row of street trees to be retained rather than cut down ,gives us an obligation to cary on our enforced relationship with these long lived trees!
  19. Like that, nice condition by the look!
  20. I just kept on hitting things to see what she would do!
  21. http://video1.break.com/dnet/media/2009/12/tiger-woods-wife-outrun-video-game.swf Hope you enjoy the game! Sorry, not very P.C.
  22. As an aside,(so please forgive),I was today talking to a ma who mills/splits and works timber suplying various trades(lock gates, furniture, chestnut fence etc),and he is making and selling shingles, usualy made from resinous evergreen, well,he is also producing shingles from poplar, and reckons they are durable. Back on track, these old pollards/copice that are now not worked, what prognosis for their future? I feel they would live for longer, even as a legacy of our past,if they were to be worked. But fear they were used as a 'spring board' to lift us to the 'plastic era'!
