  1. Sign of the times? This App is an indicator of how the Arb industry might change. Maybe... We accept and appreciate precision targeted advertising by Google's backdoor into Apps but there are costs. We've seen how the market share changes when platforms like Uber and Just Eat operate in the peripheral service sectors of mincabs and takeaways... There are other ways...
  2. Just making a point. To survey trees using the App has merit. No doubt. But do we need specialists yammering away on finer details in General Chat? Who doesn't like notifications from their feeds? Well, one group. Some of us resist being force fed the obvious when we want something more appetising. Not all bad marketing campaigns are good just because they still stimulate a buzz or boost a trend. Perhaps the people behind this App need better creatives?
  3. I meant no disrespect to the business of liability/responsibility of the profession regarding insurance etc. The ? I put in my previous was simply echoing two other posters who had advised, in different ways, to keep it zipped up. Humour can be very subjective, I know. For instance, some might think it funny, that using a film in which an actor pretending to be nazi asking everyday questions of safety in a menacing way somehow helps. Yes, consultancy is serious. Now please have the last word and draw a line under it ?
  4. or, alternatively, if you don't like forms and you're a homeowner and you'd like to know if your tree is safe, why not get a few no obligation quotes off some tree businesses? ? They'll visit, assess your tree with you and give you free advice. Always get more than one and never tell the second what the first said
  5. What's your take on Anti-vaxxers?
  6. Perhaps you've a mate who can help? I say that as I was a long-time machine operator. When you're in the rhythm zone, you don't always see what's come down the track or coming up from behind? I say that as a stupid member of the public who mean't understand community spirit ...
  7. Other users may object (H&S). Youtube scything. Keep the action in your shoulders/upper torso not lower back and it's OK. Gradient of verges might hamper progress
  8. Agreed. I've enjoyed some of your signposting
  9. "... and that's how the war will win us the next election" Not point scoring between left and right. Just thinking there's more stuff out there. What's the local news say about Nissan in Sunderland? Any different from the BBC?
  10. Don't kid yourself. A spad is not a puppeteer. Little Dom might influence policy but he's replaceable like everyone else. It'll blow over. Politics is a road show and things move on.
  11. MoD plod refuse to enter traveller sites on Salisbury Plain. Even in numbers. One of my customers got a couple of hare coursers to a magistrate's court. £2k fine and dogs put down. The later was worse for them. There are landowners who will prosecute despite the "We know where you live" threat
  12. Doesn't it depend if the company says scone rhymes with bone or scone rhymes with gone?
  13. Glad it amused ?. Been out for the day and come back to find I dropped a doozy ? and me being so careful with my worms!
  14. Yes. The impression from south of the border, is that the SNP are sniping and gorilla fighting amongst themselves and the usual secondary factions, rather than conducting trad trench warfare. And all the while, trying to keep the population united on the home front - as you put it - for their own ends. Whilst the smoke and mirrors serve as distractions (RT-sponsered ex-banker Alex Salmon), I'm just saying there is politics and those who play at politics - in my humble opinion - and people's lives will have something to say about that sooner or later.
  15. Keep up with the Scottish news. I like it in the way I liked hearing that when Monty arrived in North Africa in WW2, he found that the conscripted officers treated orders as the basis for an open discussion, rather than doing their duty and carrying them out. Not being snide. Scotland has hope even if some of the most vocal are sometimes dour
  16. We were in Aldi's yesterday, no customers wore masks nor gloves, social distancing in place though. They have a new rule about bagging up. You can't! Food goes back in trolley/basket until after payment then you can bag it up away from the tills! I asked why thinking I'd get an explanation. Cashier said that's the rule. So that's me told!
  17. Is it worse than the english 90s shellsuits. I'm thinking Roy and Renee - Caroline Aherne from Fast Show....
  18. Nicely anticipated. Telegraph has a piece today on how 20-25% of nutters answer surveys to confirm what the rest of us suspected all along i.e. dont' get taken in by "the medium is the message" blather
  19. Few women tolerate hoarders. Get a shed or de-clutter if you've got too much stuff ?
  20. We were in a shared house in Bolton back in the 80s and the toilet was on a different floor. Happy days ?
  21. An old gf used to slash in a pint pot after a night out, she kept next to the bed. Quite a sight to see her squat down. Aah, to be so liberated now!
