  4. Nice merlo. Yeah- rotaslew they call em. Top handlers, drove an 11m one for a couple of years putting up steel frame buildings. Lovely tree job too BTW!
  5. If you work for somebody and their name is on the top of the job sheet, it doesnt make the slightest bit of difference if you have any insurance or not, as if you cause any sort of injury to persons or property then his insurance will cover it by law. The person you are working for has a 'duty of care' to you as his employee, even if you are only working for one day a year for him, as long as his name is on the top of the bill/quote/ job sheet. Its pretty black and white on that score.

  10. Not been near computer for a couple of days....I winched that piece of chestnut about 80 yds out of some woods at a stately home, then put theramps up the side of the trailer and ran the winch wire over the top of the log , underneath, and back to the landy across the top of the trailer, then rolled the stick on. Basically. Log weighed just shy of 3 ton. It is now cladding!

  12. Tim craig mentioned essex. Maybe bmw's are really popular there!:001_smile:They're welcome to them i reckon!
  13. Too late, already booked.
  14. Yeah- but the point is, are they doing the trees harm or not?? I understand what they think, and don't really care for the rights or wrongs of the great unwashed, but just coz BNW aren't getting the wood, is it saving trees? or is it killing them:confused1:
  15. Was trying to find a contact for sawmill blades, and came across this site:Carry on Camping! (Do or Die) Never mind the general content of the site- the bit that interested me was the bit where they are on about hammering ceramic spikes into trees to devalue the timber as it was destined for BMW dashboards. A:made my blood boil, B:what is this doing to trees? Nothing, or harming them horribly?
  16. Have they offered you a job yet stevie- marketing director? You must qualify for some seriously cheap premiums given ow much work you have put their way?:001_smile:
