  1. So it isnt possible to damage a saw revving with no bar- not that its something i do mind- or without a load?
  2. Cheers John. Never knew that was the case.....I understood the carb was responsible, but always laboured under the misapprehension that the bar was to do with it too.
  3. Nah- we must've been writing at the same time and Bob's/yours post came up first....or whatever... thats my excuse anyway, and i'm sticking to it:laugh1:
  4. I am going to make one guess, and one only, and given where you are based, i hope i'm correct.... yorkshire tea?
  5. Thats all well and good, but you dont want the saw over-revving with too small a bar on it.
  6. Even the tea stain on the letter?
  7. Try for £10 a ton mate. There is a company paying that, possibly more than one.
  8. I should think that this applies to 99% of arbtalkers mate. For a lot of people one thing is important and that is price. End of. Stick to your guns and dont let this compromise your pricing policy or work ethic.
  9. Lovely work guys. The depth of the lustre you get is amazing Ian. Is that from the chestnut products to which you sent me a link? Bob- you been on the porn again in the workshop......you know, the German mechanical variety, or was it just checking out the enemy (forgot you're a husky man!)
  10. Blimey, a sensible chap. I would feel exaclty the same mate if i didnt need 4x4.
  11. Meindl....nice boots. My first tree boots were meindl, although i do use haix protector pros now, its not a reflection on the meindls. I think they are very comfy, possibly coz' meindl make walking boots galore too.
  12. Wow, 543 miles.....I do that in about a fortnight usually!!
  13. welcome to the darkside master liam......mwoohahahaha
  14. Total result mate. Great stuff. Keep on top of the oil changes and what have you and it should last for years. 1k......you barsteward.LOL
  15. Yippee. What was the final outcome then Tom? rebuild? Go on- spill the beans............how much did you have to fork out? (bearing in mind i have just had a 2k bill for mine........without a new lump!)
  16. I take it those pics were taken before you cut anything? Truck looking suitably smart too Rupe. Ok- now i see the rest:blushing:
  17. The quality of that vid is brilliant- really clear stuff, and a good idea of scale too. Oh yeah- nice tree work too:biggrin:
  18. Come on then frank, lets see your system. I used to lust after naim.... I have 2 technics 1210's and a pioneer djm500 sat in between them, which was wired up (in my living room:blushing:) to a little transistor style 1.4k amcron, 1.2k amcron and some 18" subs blah blah......but i have just sold the rig:thumbdown:so now we have a tamer kenwood surround sound amp with tannoy and wharfedale spkrs. Sorry for the derail. Bose always had a fairly good name and did some fairly classic set ups...the sub unit with two small speakers made like 2 cubes one above the other. I think its fairly decent kit TBH.
  19. Nice Log pile David. Thats andy goldsworthy, he has an indcredible ability with raw products such as logs and stones and makes amazing often balancing sculptures. http://www.studio-international.co.uk/studio-images/goldsworthy/woodroom_b.jpg He has some amazing books.
  20. Yeah but Jon you are loftier than the rest of us:001_tt2:......besides which you already have one of Chris' excellent machines:thumbup:
