  1. That certainly makes sense Paul.
  2. I agree, but would it not be the case that if the ground level had been raised by enough to cover flare then there would be visible effects higher in the tree? I cant see any other reason than a rise in ground though....
  3. I agree with mozza. I can see why mick came first, but you should have had second i reckon, as do my missus and Olly.
  4. Nice one Rob. That bar is obscene!!lol
  5. NIce work mate. That was a big log.
  6. That 2000 is brilliant. Really well made, and some nice bits that the portawrap seems to be missing, such as the top attachment, allowing slack to be taken out rapidly when cutting above the craning point. There is soo little difference in the price of it and the smaller one that i cant see any point in gettign that one. Go for it mate.
  7. I have a stihl 480, and its excellent. It and the 550 are the only true clearing saws stihl make, the others are brushcutters to be pedantic. I cant comment on the husky, and the echos have a great rep. John (TCD) has 2 (as he mentioned) and they are very impressive.
  8. Only had a quick flip through, but seems excellent mate. I like the drop down products list allowing you to go straight to what you want. The site is easy on the eye too. The satellite outlets bit is looking a bit sparse at the mo, or have i not used it correctly.......?
  9. A nice return to tree work after mostly building stonewalls over the past 2 months, today was someone slses job, i just climbed and brought the chipper. Very small quick beech to remove first, then this larger, 50'-ish thing to reduce to a monolith at the owners request- surry boy moved down last year- as there is a huge wound running up the trunk, which he wanted to leave for the bugs and beasts. Refreshing attitude i thought. Some of the tree had been removed in the past, as is visible from neat pruning cuts up the trunk. Although there wasnt any need to preserve the grass under the tree, I dusted off the RC200 lowering device and a pulley to swing everything round the other side as i was working over a border full of shrubs.
  10. Haha- good call on the car!!
  11. Dont forget to get the root ball out.....thats where the serious money is...

    berlin tree

What are you doing in Berlin mate? Short break, or Lucy's work? Are you back next week- probably going to look at those radiatas at some point...
  13. I agree with steve, esp on the car washing etc front. That stuf cant be good for them, and years of domestic pet droppings etc too. Is it possible that the drought is affecting the hedge too....you are north west-ish arent you?
  14. Yeah i have seen that sort of damage lots of times, where there are cattle in the field. They will also be using the tree as a rubbing post which will cause plenty of damage to the tree.
  15. I would be inclined to say that the damage is more from the cattle than the guards.
  16. Trust or norwich union will both insure it. Just ring up to insure a 130 tipper. Thats al they need to know. That is what the vehicle now is, legitimately according to the paperwork, so no worries. As long as you dont lie to them you are fine.
  17. That is looking excellent Matt.
  18. That is one helluva BBQ!!!! Makes my half a barrell seem a bit inadequate lol!
  19. I have been trying to get a copy for ages Mike. I would love to read that.
  20. I lent it to a mate as i couldnt deliver the timber that was on it, and it came back with a knackered jockey wheel.....although all knowledge of it was denied..... I am HONESTLY not stressed aboiut that rope- i found it anyway mate.
  21. That wasnt aimed at you Ady- i lent my 361 out and it vame back buggered, and a £250 drill which came back seized, my trailer which now doesnt tip properly and the jockey wheel is knackered. Im not bothered about the rope mate!!
  22. Thats why im soo glad its over!!!
