  4. Cheers Straitfell got your pm , rope will be on its way on monday . have you anything elts that your in need of ?
  5. But China has no debts with the west , america is having to eat humble pie and borrow from china to me that says alot , also china's economy is starting to slow , the economy of virtually all of EU countries has all but stopped
  6. America will only be the popular kid in the playground while China as happy for the $ to the trading currency , should the $ cease to be the trading currency , The UK is only running the risk of becoming un popular because it has a foot in each camp . Maybe the UK needs to grow a pair and remember how to stand on its own two feet , yes this means resurecting industry and im specific manufacturing and engineering .
  7. As much as Sycamore will out compete and out shadow most species but no more than Beech or even Hazle , BUT this can be controled with a good management programe .
  8. Shaldon Just over the river from teignmouth ??
  9. I think that France and Germany will will Move heaven and earth to ensure the EU does not fall . Lets be honest these are two countries that interpret the So called EU ruld book in which ever way they seem fit and in which ever way they feel will most benefit them ! This is not something that we as the UK can level solely at their feet as we have allowed this to carry on because our own ministers will not stand up for the UK . Down here in cornwall lies the fishing port or newlyn . When i was 13 (15 years ago) the port was bussy 24/7 there was always a decent market for fish and there was always plenty of fish on the market and there was a market on a saturday . now the port of Newlyn is suffere hands of the EU - the market is growing smaller and before long there will not be a market as there are not enough boats at see to provide enough fish , this in turn has a knock on effect throughout the area . Now have a look at the fishing industry in france or spain !!!!!
  10. I personally feel that the UK shoult not be renewing its EU membership , We as one of the smallestcountries in the EU pay the highest membership fees and get the least out of it . My hopes are that UK goverment sees sense and washes its hands of the EU , its about time we start to help out ourown country and putthe GREAT back into Great Britain . I personally feel that the global recession was manufactured purelyfor political reasons . and certainly feel that the UK till has enough industry left to get back up dust its self off and start to move forward . I was once told " A friend in need is a pest get rid of him" and in this case i feel that for the first time a can agree
  11. ummmmm i think it was a geet big giane geet thing:lol: HUGE
  12. Im doing verry will with that thank you !! trouble it i cant find any 200ft pines to make a good days money up Well i did know of one "big pine":blushing:
  13. if it helps i have a 3 year old Marlow 45m rope , it has seen very little use and has no LOLER , you are more than welcome to have it if you like . because of its weight all i would ask is that you cover the postage (this can be in beers at the next arb show . Do y what elts you need , im sure i have more kit lurking round that i will probably never use Good luck and hope your back on your feet soon
  14. tell you what how about i buy the county and send you regular pictures ?? lol
  15. i think you should get a comfy tractor and let me buy the county lmao . on a serious note i would say that unless your using the tractor in the woods most of the time then i would opt for a Massey or something similar
  16. I think that there are regionall variations whith regards how much a groundy can/ should earn a day and secondly is on the job learning not forming part of a wage ? . Would it not be reasonable to include on the job learning as part of the wage of a begginer groundsman ?
  17. Thanks for your advice guys , the contractor came back today and after a heated exchange with the client he has agreed to get the stumps ground to a sensible depth , i must admit it takes balls to come back to a job that you have been paid for and tell the client that the stumps that are still level with the surface and some that have had bits missed and poking above the ground are all ok and you cant see what the problem is !!!! Good job the client in this case had experience in dealing with contractors .!!!!!
  18. better still PM pete b on here aas he may be in the know .
  19. I do think that your idead to get a grinder was a great idea tom infact i would go as fas as to say that i will give out your number to anyone wishing to have stumps ground out :sneaky2:great thinking:laugh1:
  20. the sad thing is that the contractor will not get anymore work from me , i dont regularly reccomend anyone and this has proven my reasoning why not too reccomend . having said that there is not really anyone down this way that has a bigger grinder
  21. This is verry true tommer , i had not mentioned it as i thought that in the early stages it may throw a bias towards the subject. It was interesting listening to said contractor try to tell the client that hey must be kidding and that he could only do what the machine would allow !!! WTF i thought that the machine could only do what the opperator would allow
  22. i think its the rosary beads hanging from the rear view mirror that make said rig stand out
  23. The client has not tried to get anything for free , the client did not even agrue on the price , i would expect that the stumps woud be at lest ground below the surface even my 56 inches to allow the covering of them .
  24. if it helps the grinder is a Rayco RG 1635 super JR , according to the info sheet it says that the grinder can grind to a depth of 11 inches , surely on a big stump you can grind 11 inches under ground
