  2. haha yeah man! when grandads back off holiday i'll get a pic of the inside... everything you ever need in there theres only just about enough room for me in the passenger seat. foot well is brimmed with tools, spare dolmar in the middle seat, pulleys, shackles, chains, everything you ever need in the woods

  5. alright man only just noticed your post, i didnt mount them upside down because of the way i bodged the light bar up, really its too low, when the lights are upside down they ubstruct the windscreen too much
  6. that is awesome!! how did you guys come to getting that job?
  7. tried the hiflex type a's? there awesome
  8. what if you dont have gaff guards? i dont
  9. i dunno how it was priced thats my boss's job, it may well have been day rate as it was all made on site while we were putting the fence up, we morticed them there with a chainsaw and made the rails fit ect. the timber we used belongs to the estate where we were working, that was part of the job, they want to use as much of their own stuff as possible, which is nice
  10. you dont sound like an idiot, we didnt really know what we were doing making it up as we went along aha, the wood wasnt seasoned as such, it wasnt straight out the ground we fell it just over a year ago, you can see in some of the pics some of the rails are right through the mortices so shrinking should not be a problem, they shouldnt come out of the two mortices
  11. This was our first time doing this type of fencing and i loved it! Looks awesome! Fell and split all the materials ourself, was good fun and in such a nice location! My boss (my second cousint) great grandparents lived in that house so it added a bit more satisfaction to the job.
  12. as i dont have a 200t this is my climbing saw at the moment 361 with a homemade 10" bar
  13. when i do wear leggins, i have a pair of hiflex a's, very light and pretty durable, dont know how durable they would be day in day out, they havent been used much
  14. to be honest a couple of years wouldnt be too bad, it will only be to stop the horses gettin the trees while they grow, wire is a no no havent got enough for posts thats why i said rails. Was planning on using treated softwood rounds, like we normally use for post and rail fencing been fencing all day with sweet chestnut and its great stuff! just havent got access to much of it
  15. Is alder any good for milled fencing rails? Got a patch in one of our fields that i planted up with trees last year and the horses have started to get in there eating the tops on a few trees, i want to put a cheap post and rail fence round there. After those strong winds at the weekend theres a few alder trees down, and theres some that have been down a while, theres enough to mill up to get the rails i need, more or lees. What would this timber be like for this use? cheers guys
  16. alder is a brillant firewood! burnt tons and tons of it in our woodburner last year! we sell a hell of a lot of it as logs too! its lovely wood, cuts like a hot knife through butter to, also awesome to climb their like ladders good trees overall
  17. hmm i think theres a few old 116's in the shed, i'll have a look and see if the rubber mounts are still on them
  18. would this work alright with a blakes hitch? reading rupes post earlier on about not working to well with a prussik made me wonder if a blakes would work ok? as that i what i climb on
  19. the screw type ent bad splitters, on the right stuff, you can split massive rings with them no worries
  20. cant comment on the 362 or 441, but we have both 361's and 440's and they are both awesome! that last bits a joke i take? made me chuckle anyway
