  1. Agreed will all of the above, certainly a good tool for fulltime splicers, nice idea's with the pulleys and bungee! Lot cheaper than a capstan! So it seems use is more confined to marine splices really!
  2. Really freaking unbearably painfully cold.....
  3. Cheers for that bro, didnt want him to get one then find out its a gimmick!
  4. my airstreams sole is coming away on the toe but still waterproof, great boots in my opinion! They have had some abuse the last 2 years, although last few months been climbing in non ppe boots so they only get put on for crap stuff. Look after them and you'll be pleased as punch! I didn't and i'm still happy. COLDDD in winter though!
  5. Sup folks, So my old mans in need of a little saw, 16in bar tops, and a sawhorse (the sort that holds the saw with a bar cover over the top) Does anyone have any recommendations on a little saw, I only use Stihl pro saws (362 upwards) so not too clued up on which little saws are crap and which ain't in the £200-300 mark. Reliability is key as he's not very tech minded! As for saw horses, I ain't keen on him logging up on the ground as he doesn't want to get ppe and his back would suffer big time. So what are your opinions on the ones with saw support such as this one? I've had to ban him from the massively dangerous circular saw that came with the house, he's not as quick as he used to be and in all honesty hes scared shitless of it, its about 60 years old so you can imagine, zero safety features and its fairly remote place in france. Cheers for your help folks, Dak
  6. Hey folks, any of you guys using capstan winches to aid splicing? if so what you using, lets see how you have it set up
  7. got my meindls for ground work and my la sportivas for most aerial stuff, Both have their place in my opinion.
  8. Hey folks, My olds have just brought a place not to far from limoges in the perigord national park, I'll be checking it out this week, any one around that area fancy a rec climb? Or in the future prehaps.

  14. I wondered that, and how many bolts and screws hold up his tree house...
  15. Even they ain't great..
  16. Jimmys forest... I know no more so may be crap! New series but might be worth a watch?
  17. About 3 weeks ago did about 5 in a day, helping on a 38 course. Would ideally like to once a month
  18. Not on the net mate but give them a shout!
  19. Awesome mate, but few downside considering the cost ( i dont mind cos i only paid about £90) No goretex, and sole is peeling a bit but what do you expect from sliding down limbs etc, they are still in good nick! Rubber is super grippy an holds onto the smallest bumps and cracks, fit is great, can be abit Uncomfi in tight crotches but no more than any other non ppe boot. Awsome boot but next will be goretex i.e scarpa ascent tech gtx or la sportiva trango guides.
  20. Not available in UK, only donaghys stuff here is AP.
  21. I agree with highscale, great winch line though! But not ideal for dynamic applications. Cant big up tenex/yalex enough
  22. Tenex is uber easy, treeworker and honeybros have it!
  23. Avoid the granules, get the celox/quick clot gauze. Granules blow everywhere in wind, and can travel in veins / arteries causing clots.
  24. Interested how often do you guys practice? As a subbie i'm amazed at how many firms just don't practice at all! Soo lets hear when, what and where you practice, if at all.... No judgement just interested
