  1. i have just looked through the pics and saw your jacket, sorry mate. if it was on the friday then i hadnt a clue what i was doing mate, my head was miles away. i was knackered being awake since the thursday morning. i was like a fart in a trance, it wasnt till about 7pm when i had a drink and something to eat i felt ok. next time just throw something at me:thumbup:
  2. here you go john:thumbup1:
  3. i wish dean. but it doesnt take long for these little machines to go from expensive to crazy price:ohmy:. my big waterproof suit will do just now mate:sad:
  4. i adjusted mine today mick as one of the guys from treesource showed me at the weekend, i had gotten into the habbit of just trying anything to see if it worked, but he showed me properly and explained it very well. it made an instant improvement to what i have been working with. thanks again guys
  5. good pics mate, sorry i never met you, or did i:blushing:
  6. no sorry mate. firewood all the way lol
  7. i went to work in the woods when i was 20, i was super fit as i used to train all the time, was used to grafting all my life with my dad and i had even completed the marines 5 day trial at lympstone. but i have never been so knackered climbing over brash in huge chainsaw wellies trying to carry a saw, wedges, hammer, lever and lunch box. it was a nightmare. it didnt help that i had just passed my tickets and thought 'i am going to be a lumberjack' i used to spend all my time running up and down mountain sides going for another saw to cut me out, they thought i was like a mountain goat. i lasted 5 weeks, what an experience though. thats why i became a climber, but i learnt so much in that time although i didnt realise it at the time
  8. well done mate, i looked about for you but couldnt find you to say goodbye. take your time with the vt and stick with it.
  9. foresters, its obvious mate, that is why there are so many tree surgeons:001_cool:
  10. i was trying to copy it today for tying off my pulley, even with the pic i struggled, so a big wrap around and a timber hitch did the trick lol
  11. nice one andy, very rarely i do anything with an 88 except cross cut windlown stuff. but years ago i did a lot of roadside oaks, the bar was 36inch, it was always choking up. i was felling above fence line, so it was a struggle for me to hold the saw so high tbh. i wish i knew that little tip back then mate
  12. still tying to get this banking job done, but the wind and rain is a nightmare, only managed 3 hrs today, the ivy and crap old garage underneath isnt helping either:thumbdown:but check out this weeks wee toy:001_cool:
  13. i only took a couple, shipbourne and kent are truely stunning, check out the trees around the premiere inn
  14. if it is in there contract to do as you tell them, and they dont. then cheerio. its your business, you are the boss.
  15. just get in a cherry picker and rattle it by lunchtime matt, simples shmimples.
  16. buy a blower and sack the useless groundie, simples. if they dont do as they are told get someone who will:001_cool:
  17. they wood defo owe me a favour dave:thumbup:
  18. i would charge 500 quid and get a team of firewood heros to clear my site for me as we worked. and if they are good boys they can take the sawdust aswell. so i would get 3 men for free and a truck and fuel thrown in aswell.
  19. sweet idea mick, i would go for the woodland idea. if you are making a recycle centre or woodstation then there will be a lot of paperwork and money to spend, and you will end up with everyones crap and fly tipping everywhere. buy a wood and run arb events like richard did at the weekend. look at the contacts that you have now at the touch of a button
  20. if i hadnt sold my mog on here then i would be banned aswell, make sure she knows this is business aswell as pleasure:lol:
  21. shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!my missus is always looking over my shoulder:ohmy:
  22. it would be hilarious if that little person had curly hair:001_tt1:you are right, we did all head off about 11.50pm. the fact that i had been awake for 43 hrs might of had something to do with it:sad:
  23. are we talking the middle of england or britain here?
  24. dont worry rob, i got a call tonight, 2 elms have fallen over and my name is on them.
