  1. there was a jimney at the apf, it had the biggest tyres i had ever seen. roll cage, winches, snorkel. really cool..

  3. you guys have a good day, hope the weather holds for you
  4. nice one mate, if you run into hard times i will be hovering over your stumpy. lol. only kidding mate. good luck on the job front:001_cool:
  5. from what i have learned from this forum, a builders bag weighs approx 250kg when loose filled and seasoned, i sell these for 60quid a bag, and i was told down south this is quite cheap. so 4 bags makes 1000kg, or tonne. i have 3 ash trees to take down, they range from 36-60 feet. start at about 14 inches and dont go under 8 inch to the top. they are in a car park. i could have them down and logged on site in a morning easy, just me and my dad they are the perfect size for minimium handling to make firewood. the chip is staying, but we will use most of the timber, i reckon we will easy get 10 dumpy bags out of these trees. so thats 600 quid, for a mornings work. now i am not taking them down for nothing, but they are getting it cheaper than what i would of charges last year. but even if i were taking them down for free for the tree owner i would still make money when i sold the logs, so at the end of the day i would still get a wage:001_smile:
  6. well done, i bet those sweets fell out his top pocket when wrapping up your parcel. i reckon it was a test. if you eat them then he will charge you double next time but if you sent them back he would of knocked another 10% off:sneaky2:
  7. it is hard to get scale from a head cam reg, i havent done pops for years, but i have done my share, the volume of timber is just nuts, i shot myself in the foot once with 4 big pops in a back garden, i still have nightmares about now. and the cleaning up is a pain, the leaves are so heavy. another fine video mate
  8. that one grab load would last bt for about 20 years in the highlands lol
  9. Matt the mog force is strong, a winch on the front a timber trailer to the rear. yehaa!!you could stick a pole peeler on it too and cut down those wage bills mate
  10. ha ha, nice one andy. whats the score with those cracking trees. dont tell me one council department said keep the trees, so the builder builds the hooses, then a few letters to the planning departments poor wee tree oficer and the trees that are so evil have to be taken down:thumbdown:
  11. is thats what swaying it for you edd, its like when i am buying a new saw, i dont really like buying a new bar because i have loads in the shed anyway:biggrin:
  12. i nearly spat out my spag boll their josh, ha ha. even alexander came over to see what i wa laughing about. best post of the day mate lol:lol:
  13. sounds like a common closet woofter reply that does:sneaky2:but funny:lol:
  14. everything is a compromise if it isnt the exact machine, as we have spoke about, we really need to know what the ground conditions are, if it is driving over brash matting then even a valmet isnt much use, even with the belly plating, stuff gets wrapped round the wheels and wrecks the mudguards, stuff comes up between the linkages, i got a pipe broken by a twig, i had to chuck it and head home. and that wasnt driving over spruce it was just in a field..
  15. just take the chip box off, if you have a timber trailer on this can be done very quickly, my first mog just had extending sides that could easily be lifted off by hand.
  16. sounds like you have had a good day then ian:thumbup:
  17. well done bob, as i said before, wood turning saved my dads life, he would just shut the garage door and get away from all his stress and worry of his job, and he has pretty much been paying his bills with the lathe for the last 15 years..yyou will soon be making a goblet with a ring on the stem that cant fall off.
  18. ha ha, nice one lee, you wont believe the extra energy you have not dargging stuff, or the lack of rage you dont have though out hte day, like dragging a pile of brash through a gate and the last bit catches said gate and pulls it shut or just makes everything come to a standstill, pulling away the brick that keeps the gate open, no more sweeping up or blowing the rd, path, driveway, chuckies with sawdust oooer!!shifting all the patio furniture and pot plants, ha ha not for me mate:thumbup:
  19. a mog with a winch is pretty similar to a county. 4 big wheels and an engine:biggrin:
  20. dont ask mesterh for any advice on that though ian lol
  21. so huck, have you got them yet????????????????????????
