  1. nice one robert, these folk are scum. they intimidate people, usually the old and vulnerable. i have done loads of jobs where folk like this have shafted someone and we need to fix them, the worst was a bow saw half way through a big lime over a kids nursery. they had went through about 50% of a 18" stem, luckily it was an old totempole pollard, so it wasnt too tricky to get down, but could of been much wore, cracking job there mate, they must be delighted
  2. does it do the vax thing, water through the carpet and sook it back up??
  3. the credit card thing is a great wee trick, but you MUST adhereto there policy and swap to another the second one is up. i have never done this myself but i know lots of people that have, but you need to be disciplined and not let one lapse or they will thump it into you
  4. ha ha ha, but dont tell my wife i laughed at this. lol
  5. that big smile is priceless johny, spoil them while you can mate:001_smile:
  6. nice one mate, good advice from someone that knows, i was just guessing:001_smile:
  7. he he, i am still getting used to having carpets in a house lol
  8. is that the same as a vax? as i am after one of them for the house, having 2 wee boys spilling stuff all day the carpet soon gets wrecked, i boroowed my nieghbours the other day and it was awesome, could that do the car and van seats too?
  9. run a line along the banking and clip onto that, giving you an esape route, use as big a bar as possible so to try and just work from the one side
  10. jcb finance is one of the best companies to deal with, as long as it isnt a competitor machine they will finance you, but if you have a low profit on the books for last year then you may struggle mate
  11. any climbing shop jamie, they arent to expensive, i have thought about them but i think they will be a pest tbh, and i worry you would get too much grip and twist a knee or ankle, i sometimes rope onto the tree for putting the gub in
  12. wow tom, it looks cool already. its a pity there is a horse in the last photo, it spoils the shot lol
  13. sure does, thanks. my dad is good at that stuff, i will get him to do it. thanks
  14. nice pics, the one i saw went into a liquidation auction, i think it made about 14k and it was under a year old. it went down south i think. it just purrs away and where it went was amazing when i saw it working, the guys could feed the tracked chipper with it aswell. good on you mate for taking the leep and buying such a good bit of kit, takes guts to do that:thumbup1:
  15. make business plan with projections on how the chipper will help you make money, then give it to them. but i would borrow of a family member if possible and offer them a better interest rate than what they are getting which shouldnt be to hard these days
  16. thats an awesome idea huck, something you would think would only add a couple of hundred quid onto something like this, but somehow when you call it a woodchipper they add about 4k onto the bill:001_tongue:
  17. i wouldnt want to run a 4 stroke at an angle mark just incase it doesnt like it, the hopper isnt a problem at all, but i would like a little step to stand on for tracking about, and this could double up for the shorter gentleman
  18. as long as it can be done so you cant see the screws, or fixings. i would hate to waste your work, i love the natural look. what do you reckon?
  19. i think that bit will be there to keep your arm a certain length away from the blades, but if it isnt and it just there for manouvering then i could take it off, but i dont want to risk it without finding out from greenmech, i will ask peteb he will know:001_cool:
  20. thats spot on ian, how will i attach it to my brick work??i dont want to make a mess of it, the wife says its great. i will pm you now:thumbup:
  21. you can get a laser guided gutter repairer frank, sweet:thumbup:
  22. sits higher david, on the flat it is ok for us taller lads, on that little banking i chipped on the top side because the material was curly dead crap so needed more attention, straight javlin stuf wont matter, but i have a brush there now to act as a pokey stick so it was fine, but i can see that getting chipped soon, lol:blushing:
  23. chipping speed is definately slower, and if you are taking this to a job with 2 hyper drag rats you will get frustrated, but you dont need 2 drag rats when you have this, one will do or like me do it yourself, just a different approach. it is what it is, you will only find one of these little machines benificial if you are trying to minimise labour, cost, and removal of arisings. but the chip quakity is excellent bob, the only stuff it doesnt like is really dead small stuff, like those 2 conifers in my last pic. but it is for the chickens to play in so doesnt really matter.
  24. wow a chipper on tracks that cost 4k, is narrower and lighter than anything else i can find on the market, it has thunderbird capabilities and weighs under 300kgs( i think)
  25. thanks andy, i want someone to make me up a chip body and towing eye aswell. i could go to the job, shuttle the chip out in ton bags with the barrow, lift them on with the lorry which i can sell easily, ship out the timber bagged aswell and tow in the chipper. but hopefully most jobs will keep the arisings. oh and i would like out riggers on hinges too, for working on angles, they could be pulled out and reduce the risk of chipper going for a roll.. it is a beef farm johny, i just have a container at it and enough room for logs.
