  1. Couldn't agree more. Best thing I ever did. Small firms fear it will lose them higher margin, fast cashflow, domestic work tho.
  2. It's not quite a 15% gain though since circa 1 tonne hardwood roundwood at say £40+vat (ignore the haulage for now) might yield 1.5m3 loose logs at (here anyway) £76+vat @ 5% per m3... So if my math is right for every £8 you claim back (from £48 inc per tonne) you pay the vat man £5.70. Or is that a complete balls up?!
  3. Your 550xp let you down and now this?!
  4. What do you consider a "good wage"? After expenses, are you sure you're going to clear £100/day? i.e £24k/year. That's not a lot these days. This industry isn't renowned for making people well off!
  5. Handles like a banana i.e too mushy.
  6. Disco Commercial? Nissan Terrano? Trooper Commercial? Other? Thanks.
  7. [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nTaDW2c5Fyk[/ame] :thumbup1::thumbup1::thumbup1::thumbup1::thumbup1::thumbup1::thumbup1:
  8. So absolutely flippin what?! Good grief.
  9. I did a little donation; love it when people chip in like this. Though it will never undo the loss to his family et al. https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/Keith-palmer
  10. To be honest, I'm quite shocked that ya'all raving about the X27. It looks a characterless implement if ever there was one. I've also been concerned as to shaft snapping below the head as reported online...
  11. Up the (finger) nail bed. "Ah ya f---er"... Rich winch owners who never wear out their compressed cables wouldn't know anything about this. Not a waste in front of a harvester. Bumps production, pays for itself.
  12. Nonsense and also officially wrong. Good straight softwood generally is 0.7 - 0.75. Hardwood typically 0.55 or 0.6 for straighter stuff. See FC Blue Book if you don't believe me.
  13. Multiple windblow. Granny - Old tree in a crop never felled. Outlaw - Tree too difficult or uneconomic to harvest. Tassle - the tip of the trees leader. Brash Mat - obvious
  14. Is it softwood bars or hardwood cabbage wiggles?
  15. Not my area of expertise at all. Got a fibreglass Oregon (aka Bahco) one for de-jamming the processor lol but it's been years since I've split wood manually. Friends want to make an educated purchase for dealing with a decent amount of rounds of all species; trying to help them, much use I am! Any feedback gratefully received. Thank you. Edit: Or Hultafors?...
  16. Bucking is yank for cross cutting or "ringing up". Snedding aka "rigging out" or best term = delimbing. "Legging in" - buttress removal in front of harvester. I've heard brash management as "pulping up", "trashing tops", "dicing up"... Any more...?
  17. Fox News - Breaking News Updates | Latest News Headlines | Photos & News Videos "ISIS cheers London Attack" BBC? Tossers.
  18. RT is showing more of the blood than the other channels... Hmmm
  19. ello ello ello what's going on here then...?
  20. He is / was a wicked man. All done beautifullly subtly tho. Proper snake.
