  1. £80 from Timber Trail 4x4. He swore it would be man enough for tractor tyres. He was right.
  2. Croc clips straight to battery only - draws a lot of AMPs! Keep engine running.
  3. Here she is! Old school, genuine spotless Pro Mac 10-10s. THE saw with the never equalled McCulloch piston porting... Original bar - 24" on 57cc; she's got more guts than any modern "junk". Golden saw from a golden era. :thumbup1:
  4. Sick of dragging a flippin great 8kVa genny around plus 240v compressor so got this; the heavier duty of 2 models. Put 25 lbs in to these deflated forwarder tyres pretty rapidly! Car tyre from 5 to 32psi in about 4 seconds! Optional receiver to run air tools. Well happy.
  5. Somewhat disrespectful putting ones foot on a headstone.
  6. Plenty of timber contractors turning a £million p/a and making only £1k a month after all said and done. Obviously a lot more personal sacrifices in timber than in arb.
  7. Part of running a business is reinvesting in it. Judging when, how and what for are difficult tasks that some people are clueless at and others have a knack for. I went mechanised 3-4 years ago and whilst turnover rocketed, income has not increased in proportion with it; partly due to breakdowns / parts / contract and payment disputes and all the crap that goes with LTC. I spent 2 days doing arby work the other day; on day one I did four jobs that turned £200 each and it was easy work. If I could guarantee that for the rest of my working life I'd quit timber tommorow. £800/day less costs of approx £200 for overheads inc - you do the math. If only. But I'd be bored.
  8. Awesome set in Lidl at the mo for £69. Not junk, real good quality.
  9. Oh and I've driven a 17t tracked harvester bogie over a Samoa gun and it still works! £9 special offer from Hydroscand, beat that!
  10. Trouble with that G coupler is the sheer length of the end. I find the standard claw head on a Samoa gun too long for awkward spaces. I'm also going over to the hex flat ports with slide on gun end. No good for prop UJ's of course. It's getting silly now: 4 grease guns; 2 for red lithium with fixed and hosed and 2 for pin and bush grease with fixed and hosed.
  11. No, never done it. Those saws cut even better with no chain on at all, let alone backwards
  12. £65/hour too cheap for a big harvester like that. (imo).
  13. It's a bit of a dumb name since titanium is softer than steel It's a good chuck more wonga than an Oregon Jet-fit tho..
  14. Toyota 3.0 D4D consistently proved more efficient with better mpg than the 2.5 in the hilux. Mazda and now it seems VAG have shown that to comply with dumbass emission legislation (naughty stuff excepted lol), it is not neccessary to constantly reduce cubic inches and increase BMEP. Excavator manufacturers take note! A lazy, big displacement engine will last longer, bring more happiness to the world and perhaps with less stress, chuck out less emission. Very good on you VW. Extremely tempted having been about to jump into a Jeep GC.
  15. As pictured: Shavey - as discussed. Rob D - will post pics / feedback here...
  16. At last! I know you can get the isuzu derived 3.0 V6 in a Navara but it's a Navara! And only an auto option. Already owning another VAG V6 TDI, I'm pretty stoked about this...
  17. Exactly. Got a tonne of antifreeze in each back wheel of the Harvester and that programme said 370 odd litres...
  18. Me likey the idea o that! Off to check :-)
  19. The Tsumura bar will be way higher quality than the Stihl. Tsumura and Sugi are the top two. Period. Better than Cannon.
  20. From the sublime to the ridiculous. VAGs 3.0 V6 TDI would do.
  21. https://www.facebook.com/Trustmeiamamechanicalengineer/videos/718803231594616/
  22. Those rates; cut and extract or just cut? You mention distance to loading bay but only 941 harvester? Thanks.
