  1. +1. Strong dislike of solid noses.
  2. Funny you should say this now. I am seriously glad I bought my Bruunett when I did as there are a few people after them down here; even a very major contractor wants one to add to his fleet; offered me 3 times what I paid for it! The Valmet 820 is exactly the same size and has a much faster loader than the 578 altho the even rarer 678 loader is quite quick; try finding an 820! B's have their limitations; slow crane and poor reach with the standard Cranab 4115 (but strong), levers physically limit the crane function speed, don't lock up in the middle, leak oil from the roof (as mentioned!) and do not relish overloading so don't think about extender pins. Difflocks jam on so mine had a lot of disconnected features! Mine is ex FC so very well maintained in other ways. Plus points: International engine (atmo or blown) is a dream; atmo is amazingly frugal on juice. Will go where a tractor won't with a very smooth ride. I reckon a tractor and drive trailer would be as good in the mud (but never over stumps - the bogies deal with them 'ansome) but you have to think about legs all the time. For short routes the purpose built is so much more productive, altho the bunk length is officially 2 x 2m; 2.2s are ok but 2.3s are hard work to load. Now mine has had a few minor issues ironed out it just works and works and in respect of the capital outlay is a money making machine. It is now boringly reliable. I need to sort out my difflocks tho as it's prone to slipping as my tyres are getting a bit low! Here's a pic of a processor one!
  3. Losing sleep over finanace payments is no fun! If you've got the work, great, but otherwise you're heading for misery...
  4. No they are not the same. If I had a £1 for every time I have to explain this... I've got a 2012 PS-5105 and a 2012 Mak DCS5031. 1) The Dol has the "red-power" carb; self tuning bigger carburretor; the Mak has other - will take pics when I get the time. 2) The Dol has a cat muffler, the Mak does not. Dol still goes better due to above. 3) They have slightly different ignition coils (again will take pics). 4) Have different air cleaners. Mak came with additional flocked filter. 5) Different recoil; dol came with easystart That's quite a few differences already and that's not all of them. Shavey, help me!
  5. Same as this Nixon Forest King Heavy Duty Diesel Powered Self Propelled Wood Chipper | eBay Complete and utter crap
  6. What a waste; completely agree. As below, 578 has levers altho I have seen one converted to mini-levers. (see pics). Took the words right out of my mouth... are you changing to conventional push in hyd couplings? Thanks.
  7. [quote name='Drayton tree care;11007171700 trees 12-15 inch diameter. I'm looking at maybe buying a 7.5 ton digger with a harvesting head. Any advise would be great. Or if anyone is selling such a machine I would be interested. 7.5t too small. We looked into a head for an 8 tonner but gave up because the small excavators just don't have the hydraulic flow. Considered a power pack but that never came to fruition either. Stability of a sub 12 ton machine sorely lacking so don't waste your time thinking about it unless you want first thinnings for the rest of your life. I know there's this but the Keto 51 is not going to be productive on pop of the dbh you mention. If you are happy to go at it slowly then a stroke head on an 8t+ would do but look at the sticks in the vid - much smaller. What's the point? Unless your going to skid the lot to a chipper, you're just as well hand felling. You've still got to rig out and convert the sticks. Local harvesting contractor is the way to go. I'd do it but I think the haulage would kill it lol.
  8. Hmmm, 421 doesn't seem to be listed with either US or German dealers we use
  9. FOR THE MILLIONTH TIME!!! NO THEY ARE NOT!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ THE OTHER DOLMAR THREADS ABOUT THE DIFFERENCES !!!!!!! :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:
  10. Cracking pics!!! Lovely saws :thumbup1: Put that in yer pipe and smoke it stihl & husky
  11. Nothing semi-pro about it tho
  12. There are millions of them already. One of my fovourite companies has this as their customer service FAQ: 5. ATF has an attitude. This is evident from the text on the website. It is not our desire to insult anyone, but we are as straight forward as possible, which also means we do not tolerate bullshit or any sort of shifty antics very well. Please treat our employees respectfully, and we will do the same in return. We don't grovel, and threatening us with lost sales (because we don't offer "dealer status" to everyone with an FFL or a re-enacting unit) or legal action (because your order did not arrive until the day after you placed it) will get you cut off. And don't even think about using anyone's credit card other than your own. ATF screws no one but our partners, and we don't tolerate unsolicited buggering attempts. 6. Our policies are to protect us as well as the customer. After some hard lessons in years past, we do not accept checks (nearly 10% bounced, wasting many hours chasing them down), we do not extend credit (90% pay late or not at all), we don't ship C.O.D. (30% were refused because a money order was required and/ or the wife was not aware of the delivery), we ship all U.S. orders via UPS (because they have 100% accountability, and tracking numbers) and we don't do preorders because our best guess is almost always wrong as to how long it will be until we make or receive an item. Lastly, we are not a historical reference or appraisal service. The people that want to chat for 4 hours every day about the color of Japanese Army jock straps are the same twits who squeal because it takes us more than 7 seconds to process, pack and ship their order. We try to be informative enough on the website to help customers make a decision with little or no help. So we have time to pack your orders, not because we are cruel and antisocial. 7. The owner's sense of humor is nearly always crass and tactless. I hate boring prose, so by personal choice, I sometimes opt for odd, shocking, mildly disgusting, perverted or somewhat hateful comments on my website. This is directed at certain individuals who are unbearably annoying, troublesome or are simply a waste of organic matter and I choose to poke fun. Most comments are only sarcastic and are not specifically intended to offend Muslims, Christians, heterosexuals, people of high moral fiber, twits, drunks, goths, trans gender things, guys who play with dolls at 44 years of age, nor anyone else in particular. I pick on whoever earns it with no discrimination. (Exceptions: I consider it open season on Plushies, pedophiles, TV evangelists, and khaki-nazis at all times and no respect or restraint will be exercised. Guys that compare our stuff to items in their "action figure" collection will be drawn and quartered. If you had played "dress up" with your sister's Ken doll when I was a kid you would have had your ass kicked by your buddies. Work it out for yourself. Playing with dolls after 3rd grade is creepy. Try telling your co-workers about how excited you are that Franz and Lothar are coming out soon and see how they share your anticipation......) Yes, I like George Carlan. This is often a strange business, and it occasionally deserves comment. Not all of them will be nice. That'd be boring anyway. That's all. If you are horrified by my infrequent use of expletives or our April Fool's exposé (crude pics of naked fat things or sacrilegious items), grow up. The filth that appears here from time to time is simply a joke and most people enjoy it. If you want to be offended, tune into CNN and watch what people do to one another in the real world on a daily basis. If a pic of a purple dildo sends your blood pressure soaring and sets your eyes alight, then you need to calm down and step outside of your cave once in awhile. We won't actually send you such a thing. Promise.
  13. And yet I've had 100% sterling service from EE. They have been beyond brilliant for us.
  14. +1. One of their own staff stole a chainsaw I posted; was caught but not sacked!
  15. Radmore & Tucker have a mechanic called Kevin who apprenticed with them over 40 years ago. What he doesn't know about 2 strokes aint worth knowing.
  16. No, they've got more sense and can make a US carb (california air res. board) compliant machine without having to.
  17. Seriously; ignore the Echo weight figures - they are nonsense. I went from a 6 month old Stihl FS85-R to the Echo SRM300 (so higher cc) and the Echo is a lot lighter - it is extremely light in fact. It is soooooo smooooooth too. The Stihl was seriously shakey by comparison too; just rough. I'm not saying this because I'm a fan of Echo; I'm a fan of echo because what I say is true.
  18. Tell me about it. Half a litre a day of hy-tran due to those pesky cab roof connectors, cannot get them to seal. At least hytran has gone down in price! Liquid gold lol.
  19. Totally agree about the mulcher Garden Power Mulching 300mm Brush Cutter Blade, 20mm Centre Hole
  20. Second that. Avoid 4-mix.
  21. ???!!! Of course you will, as per here: Brushcutters / Petrol Brushcutters but why bother when you can: Echo SRM265TESU Petrol Brushcutter No such thing as a domestic brushcutter from echo; all built with the same attention to detail and all straight shaft machines have a solid driveshaft unlike S&H ...
  22. This coffee was proper! At last visit anyway... Caffe Corretto Restaurant Reviews, Gloucester, United Kingdom - TripAdvisor
  23. Echo. http://www.echo-tools.co.uk/index.php?id=309 Got two of these. Smooth, quiet, sweet machine. 2 yr pro warranty bu doesn't need it.
  24. Haha, saved me having to do it "S"
