  1. All out of lime I'm afraid. Bad form I know?! Haha. Hows the ropeguide treating you anyway bud?
  2. The shortest I tend to go is 75cm. The one in the picture might be a bit shorter but not much. I find anything smaller and the hitch doesn't function correctly. Tried the cambium saver out today and works lovely. Just wished I'd made it a tad longer. Ah well I can always splice another :-)
  3. Few beers and a few splices. Nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
  4. Haha! That's awesome rich. You can insert the wire after its spliced though,it's just a bit more awkward mate.
  5. Really nice idea with the rubber inner mate. Been looking for something similar my self to use. Not found anything yet although I do get distracted easily on the Internet?! Haha. As far as wear goes with the wire insert,I used one of mine for well over a year and then dissected it. No wear inside from the wire at all. The stuff i use is 5mm with a plastic coating round it.
  6. The best rope to use for a ropeguide is any 16-strand rope mate. I prefer to use yale XTC my self. I suppose you could use tenex and it'd be fine. The only problem i can see is when it comes to retreival. If any of the strands got caught as it falls to earth it could pull them out? Other than that though tenex would be fine. Oh yeah it's very easy to splice. Just knock a few loopies or woopies up and use them for re-directs or something?
  7. Nice work mate, that marlow stuff is lovely to learn on isn't it? Only problem is it tends to milk quite alot? Keep up the good work :-)
  8. To be fair mark you don't need much for a basic kit : A fid is a must IMO Some kind of awl(or a ground down screwdriver) Really good pair of scissors Tape measure Permo marker Electrical tape Couple of krabs for burying and what not Sail makers palm Sail makers needles Pair of pliers(ones without groves work best) If your after some more info then give me a ring bud. I'll be able to show you more at the AA or jonsies mate....
  9. The best way is to speak to nod at Treeworker. He runs workshops teaching you how to splice. Careful though! Once you start it becomes an obsession!
  10. Glad to see the lockjacks treating you well mate :-)
  11. Really enjoyed that,good video.
  12. Parts unknown.
  13. I love watches!! Much to the girlfriends dismay. I've got two tag heuer's,a seiko and an omega. They cost a fortune but I dont have a mortgage or a fancy car. This is how I justify it anyway! Haha
  14. What if you got the s+m gear out instead, would that please her?! Haha
  15. Haha!! That does sound vaguely familiar though!
  16. Cheers buddy :-)
  17. I hate stopper knots. Never have one on my climbing line but in my lanyard I either splice something into it or I tie it off on the back of my harness. I hate anything dangling about! Haha. This one I spliced a quick release shackle into it.
  18. Back splice?! With a small ring or clip in it.
  19. Of course it is mate, the more the merrier. Nice work bud how'd you find splicing the OP? Have you got another small cambium ring spliced in the other end o the OP or just a stopper knot? Keep up the good work.
  20. Glad you like it mate. Sprinkled a bit of extra awesome sauce on it just for you bud! Haha Hope the weather dry's up a bit for its first outing.............doubtful!
  21. Alright there bud,not sure where in the midlands you are but I live near Nottingham if that's of any use to you? Happy to help you out if I can.

    Opinion.

Ditto what mark says. The only problem you may have with OP is it can take a while to bed in. When it does though it's sweeet!!
  23. Haha,awesome!
  24. Nice work mate. Love a good bombing job :-)
  25. Here ya go bud
