  1. Hey Dave. Yeah it sure is! Im very happy with it too. It retreives better than the art one. Ive made this one a bit longer for blocking girthy trees such as this down. then when you do a smaller one take the coccoon and sling off and put it on the shorter one ive spliced:biggrin: It still works out cheaper splicing two lenghts with large cambium rings, retreivals and the cocoon than buying one art ropeguide!! Cheers Tom mate, dont worry i bollocked the groundie!! haha
  2. Yeah i love chocking on all the bloody dust it kicks out too while your trying to rip it off!! The bollards awesome:thumbup:
  3. Got to go back in the morning to fell the last bit. We were blocking a driveway and had to have it open again half three. We would of had it all done and dusted acceptt we had to lug all the logs into the barn for the client so took loads of our time up:sneaky2:. Nice day for it though!

  16. .............aye we can also put some new soffits facias up for ya too!!! Its my first time tamacing too. Well i say tarmacing! I actually spent most of the day shuvling and barrowing.....oh and fetching tea!! Before people start calling me a pikie there's two sides to our company. The groundwork side who i was with today is about 80% of the buisness then there's our little tree team. The guy kissing the roller is trying to unblock the water feed to the roller. Well thats what he told me anyway!! haha
  17. Got roped into tarmacing today as quite alot of our lads were off today. Not the most fun ive had but made a change:biggrin:
  18. Ive climbed on a VT for quite a while now and never had a problem with it. The thing with a VT though is you have to get it bang on! This is very dependent on rope type and diameter's of both rope and friction cord. Also the length of the knot changes with different cords and the longer the knot then there's a higher chance of it not gripping. If your not sure about a VT then why not try a knut or howard hitch. The knut is a really good hitch and you can tie it very small with hardly any sit back at all and grips everytime. Its all about fine tuning and finding whats right for each individual. As this unfortunate accident has proven though just make sure that what ever you use, make sure you know the ins and outs of each hitch. Thankfully there's this forum for all people who are unsure and who may have questions on such things..............stay safe out there folks.
  19. Congratulations mate:dancing:
