  3. Haha i dont think its that good mate!!................i aint a pro like you:001_tongue:
  4. I sure am!!.................casper pointed that out to me at the aa show:biggrin:
  5. Here's todays offerings:biggrin:
  6. When doing the taper for the crossover, what you need to remember is that you've now got double the amount of rope in the core now. So when tapering you need to roughly remove about 50% from each core so when you milk it there should be the same amount as if there was one core. So cut an angle and roughly remove 50% from both ends. The smoother you get the tapers the nicer the finished splice will be:biggrin:
  7. Glad to hear it mate hope they work well for ya:thumbup1: For tapering the crossover you need to mark both core's where they exit (the white core and the new one that you've inserted). Then pull about 10cm out on each core and then do the taper on each one. After that milk the rope up and down a few times and it should all settle nicely!! Make sure the ropes been milked both ways before you marek them though! Hope that makes sense? haha. I'll show you how i do it at Jonsies if you'd like mate?
  8. Nice work John, its really satisfying doing your first splice isn't it? That arbor master looked like it was hard work!! bet your hands were on fire after that one! haha. Did you end up with any lumps? Has the armor pruss turned up yet?
  9. Alright mate,i cant for the life of me think who rob marley is!!?

We do have get togethers though mate and your more than welcome to come along. I cant do this weekend but may be able to do next weekend? My numbers 07515948133 give me a bell mate and we'll sort something out.

    Take it steady bud, Hadleigh

  11. Spot on rich:thumbup1:.............you still doing plenty of splicing mate?
  12. Thats a cracking reduction mate:thumbup1:.
  13. but the information we give is priceless:001_tongue:. Nice to meet you at the aa mate, you going to jonsies show?
  14. Cheers for the info ropey:thumbup1:. I do a class one double braid for the prussiks. If i was to use the rope in a different configuration though i would possibly look into doing a core dependant splice. Glad its treating you well John:thumbup:
  15. Haha yeah they've cooled down now!! The patron is a static line and i would say not splicable? If it is splicable then it'd probably have to be a core to core splice as thats where all the strength is.
  16. Think its about time your boss bought you some new equipment mate:001_tongue:
  17. Really nice work Liam:thumbup1:. That whipping on the roblon is a thing of beauty!! Good to have you on the forum mate, keep up the good work.
  18. Very nice Carl:thumbup1:. Hope your backs better mate?. Ive still not climbed on my poison ivy yet:sneaky2:. Gonna order some supplies off nod next week, really like the look of those ceramic knives:biggrin:. I was that busy on the show i didn't even get chance to waste my own money!! haha
  19. Cheers for thinking of me mate:thumbup1: Hope its as good as you remember! haha
  20. Im suffering with the same problem mate. I need both of mine operating on but haven't got the time at the min. So what they've done is give me the injection of steroids which as eased the pins and needles at night. If your border line mate then maybe the injection will do for now? As for what causes it. It can be anything from vibrations to falling over and landing on your hand!
  21. Do you find the OP is better at gripping the rope when spliced or with fishermans terminations? Ive never been a big fan of OP but i spliced some up and it seemed to work alot better. The stiffer tails on the splice seem to help in opening and closing the hitch. Just curious what others have found?
  22. There both double braids and both easy to splice. As bob says, very forgiving(cheers for the rope bob! haha) You want to do a class one double braid splice on them both mate.
  23. Thats a cracking looking lead mate:thumbup1: I once made one out of some 16mm double esterlon for my mums dog. Its only a lhasa apso! haha.
  24. Haha!! good man!!............Its 15 more feet than mine have done!! haha. Id of had them set up just lying on the floor for everyone to drool over:biggrin:..............god im sad!!
  25. Nice work buddy:thumbup1: You been showing your armor pruss off yet!! haha
