  1. Do any of you guys n gals know where I can buy a diamond tipped bench grinder to sharpen green teeth. Been on utube and have bought a variable speed drill on a tower with a bench grinder. I'm missing the vital component and I can't source it locally. Any suggestions?
  2. Cut n climb jacket everytime. Even when they get wet they dry quickly. I trialled the jacket before production and they worked well. Thing to bear in mind is the weave of the jacket or trousers. The tighter the weave they better it performs for waterproofing. But if the jacket gets covered in skank it wont perform so well as the weave will be held open by dirt thus allowing moisture through.
  3. Full length zip also means more possibility of problems. The winsors had a material fillet to stop ingress of water.
  4. Copy the winsors but with a zip to knee. Could put waterproof zips instead of pockets so access to chainsaw trousers easier. Green seems to disguise tree scank
  5. Have you got this job sorted yet. Im based in Thornhill and have my own grinder, I can get through 1 wide gates etc for narrow access. If youve sorted this one out keep me in mind Cheers Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  22. me thinks this is due the tree officer wanting a report being carried out on the tree before he/she condemns the tree. I, as a former tree officer would have cringed at the thought of crown reduction of any tree due to lack of guarantees of future maintenance. The other thing we are not sure of is what is the training of the TO, are they a landscape architect with trees included in their remit, a planner or a qualified Arborist. All a bit of a side issue but hey.
  23. The experience ive had as a tree officer pointed me in the direction of amsterdam soil and there are kerbs out there that do the job along with a root barrier. try looking at the threads on the uktc network. ( chat room for tree officers and consultants) any probs. ill sus the website/chatroom out for you. just pm me. cheers Richard
  24. what level of qualification have you got for your current post? I would personally go for isa certified arborist, this is equivalent to an nd arb but requires cpd to maintain the qualification. The next step would be prof dip arb which can be studied for while you are working via correspondance college then go for chartered status. it does of course depend what you want to do with your qualification/ career. hope this is of help. cheers richard
  25. didn't travel the furthest but might get a prize for longest day trip. left fri am 4.30 and got back at 12.30pm. 10 hrs driving.
