  1. Very busy Adam, Got some interesting work for national trust and have picked up Moat brae in dumfries ( JM Barries old house - where he wrote peter pan) so that should be an interesting project and a good un to be associated with. U doing any interesting jobs? Alan Mcnays dad committed suicide the other week. bit of a buggar as he was a good mate. Alan is back working on the farm. Think he got home sick in oz.
  2. because theyve done a risk assessment on everything and in the eventuality of every injury. I climb in fingerless gloves and find them great especially this time of year with hacks.
  3. Whose the old git now sanny?
  4. Hi Adam, wos in there recently and Ive asked them is they can source the old jackets. They were fantastic Ive still got the one I bought a year before u bought urs. Ill keep u posted.
  5. I would always give the LPA 3 days notice of your intention so that they can explain to alarmed members of the public and so they know what you are doing thus preventing irrate tree officers or planners. Being an ex tree officer this would have always been appreciated.
  6. hows it gan gash heed?

  7. Have had 2 pairs now each have worn brilliantly. bit hot in summer but they stand up to all the various positions of climbing and if they do snag the hole doesnt get any bigger. Best trousers Ive ever had but liked the old colours.
  8. I agree, the only way to treat your customers is by giving them best advice and if this means telling them not to touch it then so be. Honesty is the best policy. If you are worried about the limb a thin wont hurt. Personally I wouldn't brace as then your client is admitting there is a flaw in the tree. This will also lead to having to maintain a brace.
  9. NPTC could review its systems and make refreshers manditory like spraying cert. only way to tackle the problem would be if local authorities take on the role of public education re. hiring an arborist, this couldn't be a guarantee of workmanship however, it might sift out the lop/top crew out there.
  10. Anyone got any feedback on meindl boots. Tried lots of different makes but im fairly disappointed in them either in the sole (wearing out quickly) or heavy (klima air).
