  6. Found this lurking on a riverbank Willow, we have pollarded to 4m as its near a path/bridge.
  7. As Dean said it would take a lot of gaffer tape and that could work out expensive!!
  8. A couple more of the swamp like site!
  9. Been out early turned out the horses and tidied the yard, got sausages, hash browns in the oven to go with an egg and a muffin and fresh coffee.....with a start like this the day cant get much better!

  11. A tirfor and some Cobra bracing that'll be good as new! Great pic, put my money on the wind.
  12. Curiosity initially...I used to have a Saturday job for a landscaper who was scared of heights and he used to send me up the odd Conifer to "top" it out, I wanted to know how to do it properly so when I left School I did ND Arb and went from there - I never thought of it as a career as I enjoyed it, been in the job 16 years, 10 self employed and still love (nearly) everyday!
  13. It has a handrail fitted in certain areas and a kick board at the dipping platform to stop the wheelchairs rolling in...its all made out of plastic!
  14. Muddy work fitting a board walk and dipping platform to a wetland area!
  15. Put me down John...can we avoid this Thursday - the wifes in having our 1st baby so may not be able to get away! I'm happy to chuck the bar b on the back of my truck!
  16. There is a huge difference between a "fast" and a "efficient" climber, its no good racing round the tree like a squirrel making cuts here there and everywhere with no method or dropping off braches so that it makes it more difficult for the ground crew to sift lumps of cord off the brash!! I'd like to think over the years I have become more systematical/produtive I now climb less when in the tree - even stack/spin the branches the right way round for the groundies.
  17. I got called out to rescue an african grey parrot a couple of years ago that had escaped and flown about 40ft up the first of a row of 3 Lombardy Pops (you can probably guess whats coming!!) The RSPCA turned up with a posh net and I set off climbing towards it, literally got within about 2m of it and it gently swooped doewn into the next tree I cam down and explained this could go on all day but she said she would pay for my time and could I climb the next one - so I did and the same thing happened, this time flying onto an elctricity pylon - I explained I dont climb these took my cash and went on my way. The Parrot returned to the ladys back garden a few days later!
  18. As Joe said there has already been a thread on this which again SWB raved about the heavy cumbersome uncomfortable Stretchless Airs! IMO its whatever you feel comfortable in while climbing, which for me is hi-flex all the way, like climbing in trackies compared to the strtches.
  19. Great news mate, enjoy the journey! We go in on thursday for a C section as the baby is breech.
