  1. Some pics from last Friday, Carlsberg don do tree work, but if they did... Everything went sweet as, sectional take down over a house and 2 patio's, chip stayed on site and the house owner helped load the timber onto his trailer and unloaded it down the garden....back in the yard for 3.30 (I wasnt climbing its one of my guys Matt in the tree as I was supposed to be doing inspections but stayed on site to help with the rigging)
  2. Its lucky it wasnt raining you would have needed "DAZ" to get the stains out of that white t-shirt! Good job though mate
  3. I will be selling a Green Mech padestrian grinder in a few weeks if your interested.
  4. I can cover West Midlands if your interested?
  5. Nice Johnny, have you converted all those ready for someone to caom along and pinch from the yard?
  6. I'd buy a smallish padestrian if you have lots of small stumps, you'll find you use it more than expected and will push a little more when quoting to do the grinding and be able to offer a fuller service? Woodpicker has an RG20 for sale on here which would be a good machine?
  7. On the other hand, if you have trained and experienced arborists and landscaper guys working for the same company and/or on the same site in certain situations this would prevent things like excavating roots. On many occasions knowledge in both is priceless, especially on jobs like installing Cell web where we can advise and install and insure corners are not cut (or roots!) through the negligence of the landscaper!
  8. Quality job as always Reg, How much saw dust !!!
  9. I've got the srt, purely because he didnt have the regular with him.
  10. Nothing wrong with that John, we run teams of Arb's and landscapers no problem!
  11. It was following your praise for it I decided to try it, and the clippy leg straps!
  12. Do you mean clip the chainbreak onto the carritool or the lanyard onto the chainbreak?
  13. We had our LOLER inspection today, Robert 'Noddy' Knott from treeworker came and gave us a first class service and managed to get all kits inspected, tagged and logged - the odd rope is now slightly shorter or has become 2 now ! He brought some gear for us to look at too and I am now the proud owner of the Petzl Sequoia and a couple of ropes. I 'd like to thank him for the excellent and informative job he did, if anyone is looking to have kit Loler inspected then I would definatly recommend him!
  14. Is it because your so strong they break when you push it on after cutting?! We go through them quickly too, I found less get damaged when they are clipped to a carritool on the harness when climbing rather than when the guys were letting it swing around or cutting then dropping the saw!
  15. Everywhere except the top right hand stump!
  16. I think the mog must have been on litter picking duties today so they had to use the pld John Deere!
  17. That looks like it woulod make a handy tree wagon with some high ally sides on, nice big tool store
  18. Bad news Andy sorry to hear that. Just had some unlikely looking blokes drive into my yard nosing around and asking for 'scrap' Hopefully they will surface - I'll keep my ear to the ground.
  19. I think its because us arborists always tend to load that extra bit on, I used to overload the tranny so brought 7.5 tonners and overload, whatever you have it always tends to be 'maxed' out! Builders tend to use skips and have materials delivered on BIG trucks with handy lifty things!
  20. Nice on Justin, just registered - looking forward to it, and getting chance to drink some ale with you guys as I couldnt manage the trade fair!!
  21. Its difficult to drive down the road with just an engine and geerbox as everything else has dropped off or broken, and the chip ends up spilling all over the road!
  22. It will probably do you for 12 months - I dont think they are designed for the abuse arborists give them. We brought one cheap at the start of a contract and it gradually self imploded, ended up buying a transit 12 months later and sold the LDV for scrap . Lost £3k in a year as it had no resale value!!
  23. I got askes to take the leader from a stag headed Oak tree, when I got to the end of the live growth I found a rusted old bow saw about a third of the way through, someone years ago had obviously decided to give it a bit of a reduction, got the saw stuck then left it!
  24. I had the usual 8 hours ish as went to bed about 9.30pm so not tired or worried. I was looking forward to a bit more of a casual day, ended up sat staring on here for the first hour waiting for the first member to join then sorted the banking out online!
