  1. All my wood is seasoned for two years minimum, believe it or not. I would never have the time, patience or energy to split green wood as soon as it enters the yard, and besides it would be stolen if split. Moisture meters why bother, just store outside for two years and you,ll have dry wood.
  2. I,d be lost without mine, I have a selection for different occasions but my favourite is my little Jasper Conran clutch bag, it,s simply adorable and matches my Dia Monte earrings. You blokes are really old hat.
  3. Same as above with two exceptions, just pay for the yard or you could end up working too much for the yard and secondly you need planning permission for a container. So dont lay out for one just to be told you have to shift it.
  4. That mini is handy for when the landy breaks down All landys should carry one.
  5. You could diversify into burgers and hotdogs with that. Or even make youreself a caravanette.
  6. Thunderbirds are GO!!!!.........F.A.B Virgil
  7. The customer comes first everytime with me, the tree officer wont pay you,re bills, but I suppose you would have earnt some brownie points off him.
  8. I would stay well clear of grassing anyone, do you know who you,re dealing with. Let someone else do the grassing it aint my style.
  9. Agreed it,s not good to stitch anyone up. It,s a shame customers dont see it the same way, the ones that swear blind there,s no tpo, or it does,nt matter as it,s not an oak etc etc.
  10. I,m gonna sharpen my combat loading skills on my p/action shotgun in case things turn ugly, after all turkish delight is my favourite.
  11. I would have dropped those lower limbs before felling.
  12. Yeah sounds good, but they might sub it out aswell and I,d end up with Kermit and Co. working on my behalf................Anyway for the record I charged £1050..........Shock Horror!!! I can hear you all saying.
  13. I may be missing something here but why would you want to work for two days while on holiday/visiting family ?
  14. I am already seeing bigger firms squirming for work in my area. One fella I know bought two new trucks and two new chippers in spring 08, he had a handfull of staff and now they,ve been laid off. A couple of weeks ago I priced a job at £150, he came in at £75. I think it,s just a matter of time before his kit is repossessed. How the mighty are falling, I,m glad to see some thinning out, in fourteen years of trading I,ve seen loads of new firms spring up round here and all with sparkling new kit on the knock and a few tickets under their belts and the cheek to call themselves tree surgeons. Aint I glad I stayed Charlie small taters.
  15. Sometimes a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do. Good luck Tree hunter. Maybe you could burn you,re debris instead of laying out for a chipper, see how things go before spending.
  16. Ebay, there seems to be lots of bargains at the mo as I think lots of people are giving up. Expect to pay £2500 to £5000. Dont wait to long though, when the sun comes out they,ll be gutted they sold them.
  17. Way to dodgy, and everything would have landed on someone else,s property. No sorry out of the question, it had to be dismantled without doubt. It,s unfair to ask for you,re quotes really as there,s nothing like a site visit so you can judge it properly. I,m only asking for you,re estimates I suppose, sorry I should have said that at the beginning.
  18. Keep em coming, I,ll tell you what I charged later. But suffice to say, Mesterh n Swb you can come and work down here for me anytime. I,ll even give you £600 a day for jobs like that.
  19. COCK UP part 2.........I,ve been asked to drive 45miles to Dover and quote fer more work as opposed to simply go there, do the work and then invoice like the last job for this housing association. This makes me think I may have overcharged, so I would like to ask, what would you have charged for the Ash takedown in the pictures. Taking into account all brash and timber were left on site.
  20. A few more
  21. I,ve sussed how to improve these images of Rich Rule.
  22. I got a rebate of £7.50 this year. I still can,t make my mind up what I,m gonna spend it on.
  23. I switched from Trust to NFU on the tenth of this month, I have dealt with the Skipton branch and got 2.5mil pl, 10mil emp and £3000 sml tools for £775. Not as good as SWB,s man Willy. I left it to late to change again as I did,nt want a gap but I,ll be calling Willy next year for sure. Trust wanted £1300 for pl and emp but no tools. £600 extra for £3000 of tools.
  24. I,m working on it. The Mrs. as always said I look dodgy......Anyway, good luck Cerne.
  25. Yeah get the picture, but is,nt that illegal ? lol. chin up bruv, something will crop up. Always does.
