  1. Wow Steph as you buy in most of your wood this is going to hit you hard ? I used to visit Kielder as a kid in the 70s , Then we moved to Cheshire . Log Sales here are steady even in this climate . I only sell logs as a by product from tree work . Even now we are delivering 4 loads a week . I reckon a harsh winter is on its way later this year , and Ive never been wrong yet
  2. For sure . Mistakes like this are a sure fire way to Colchester lol . No Picnic there ; )

  7. The older bandit 65 used to hate deadwood and it always caused problems at the rollers .
  8. Maybe even just a decent thinning . It would look a lot less dense and give dappled light through the crown .

  13. Wow your lucky the Golf ball did not cause you to crash ? Used to look after the nearby golf course trees . Until the new head green keeper decided that the members could T off right next to a section of willows we were working on ? Stupid really as one member hit the chipper with a stray ball and the next ball dented the side of the truck . Job got called off in the end . Head green keeper was embarrassed and we got our day rate ; )

  22. Very Interested in the mulched and un mulched scenario . We have at my new yard a mature Beech tree . Which has soil and rubble banked up around the base . I would of thought this would affect the root plate . Although this tree has had no failed limbs . My old yard has another equally sized mature Beech tree which has shed limbs and is showing signs of shedding more . This tree is sited in a frequently grazed grassland area .
  23. As said before , I wear chaps and have shorts on underneath quick change at break times is easy . Also if on a domestic job head for the the outside tap . Although to be fair this weather is making me less productive and I,m getting behind with work . Nice when you've finished though and are hydrated and on BBQ duty
  24. Wow Interesting fact of the day:001_cool: . Glad I got my Jo Beau .
