No maintenance time or quality family time . Trouble is I hate letting people down .So now with my aches and the like No seems to said more often . .

  5. Cheers guys I,m going for a sauna sometime this week and a sports massage . I,ll just keep plodding on until then . Was thinking about going back to a 4 day week . That will leave me sat , sun and monday free . Any younger climbers out there should strive to get in a good working position and use any advances in tree climbing to there advantage . thanks again .
  6. Hi all I have had aches and pains due to the nature of the job for many years . All my working life since leaving school in 1986 has been brutal on my body and is now starting to affect everyday working life . So as many of us just carry on regardless and put off going to the Doctors. As we all know our own bodies better than anyone else . I decided after many threats by the good lady indoors I shall visit the Doc . Anyway turns out that I have Tendinitis / Rotor cuff injury . Advice was to avoid activities that aggravate the problem . Well thats nearly all Tree work . To top it off I may have Calcium deposits . I think it has a lot to do with the long handled hedge work . So even though Im going to up my supplements I think hedge work duties will have to be past on . Trouble is nobody can quite cut the mustard . Hedge works takes practice and a good eye . Think I should be a Bonsai Specialist
  7. I used to contract climb over 10yrs ago for £50 / £70 a day . All I came with was my climbing kit and an 020 and my own mixed fuel. I used to hate using other peoples fuel as Ive seen how some staff just kind of guess the mix ratio . Anyway I thought I was minted. If I have a contract climber in now they get £120 a day and use my fuel .Saves my poorly shoulders back neck the list goes on . If it was a difficult take down Id do it myself but would take longer or pay climber extra dollars .
  8. I you might be right we have not seen them round here for a while . Were they based at Capesthorne Hall at the Siddington Nr Congleton . They used to run the Bandit 90 chippers I think .Very expensive mind you they are a big outfit with big overheads . A guy from Leek used to work for them and told me they needed to make £ 600 a day .
