  1. There is probably a reason why it's £100 cheaper. Harnesses are very like women.
  2. This willow shat it's top in August. The client wanted it gone, but after much back and forth with the TO it was done to his spec today. The client was actually really chuffed, although the frame is a bit lopsided after the initial snap out (14" dia). Danny Mac nailed the climb, we sent his afternoon brew up to him. Took about 3 tonnes away this evening.
  3. Just not selling Bill. It's a toss-up between the Treehog and the Courant at the minute.
  4. How much does it cost to invest in your body? (Not your body Steve, I still have your prices scrawled on that beer mat you passed me).
  5. We need immigration, anyone who doubts that should just take themselves off and try and count their IQ without taking their shoes off. We do need controlled immigration, however, we are getting pretty full. Can anyone honestly present a reasonable argument against implementing a system like Oz or NZ? The Africa thing is indeed complex. Just under 33 years ago I bought 'Do they know it's Christmas' on 7" vinyl and really thought I was making a difference. A generation later and there's still been years of drought and famine and Mtutze and his wife can't feed their 12 kids. No one learns a fricking thing, and it is truly depressing. Even more so that it happens in this country with 3rd generation doleites. I haven't got a solution. Maybe everyone needs to try a little bit harder, myself included, and especially pricks like Bono, although a shiver still goes up my spine when he totally nails that vocal!
  6. The Courant has a skateboard deck thing you can slip in the back of it Paul, best of both worlds. Treehog 5000 anyone? How bulky is it? Gustharts are discontinuing the Singing Rock, which is never a good sign (I see what you mean about the attachment points Bill, cheers).
  7. Any feedback on the Courant Koala? The Singing Rock Timber looks good, but it might be a bit weird only having the bridge attached to the leg loops? Bloody cheap as well!
  8. Plenty of buzzards here in Kent now, love seeing them, especially on the still summer evenings wheeling on the thermals. I saw 7 at once just outside the village last year, miles up.
  9. I really like the look of that one Arrozdoce, seems really simple with decent buckles, which is exactly what I want. Clarks don't do them any more and it looks like Gustharts only have them in XL, and I'd like to have a hang in one first. Because of that, and I never thought I'd say this, but I think the Stein Vega is winning at the minute!!! Pros and cons? If only Petzl would sort out their shitty buckle and adjustment system I wouldn't have to go through this!
  10. That's a very good point Jim, I missed that, and aye, I would find it annoying. Bolt I had 2 Komets, good harnesses but the self-adjusting during climbs made me change.
  11. Can't see an obvious UK stockist?
  12. Mine won't adjust mate, the waist is set too slack for me, and it wouldn't shift in the pishing rain on Saturday. The Sequoia is great apart from the crappy buckles, and the new ones look similar. I remember Adam Bourne really rated the Tree Core. Why don't you buy one then drive down so I can try it? The Austria is meant to be a good harness Stihlmad, but those side-D's must have been designed for Stevie Wonder. I'd be knocking stuff off the shelves when I wore it down to the shop.
  13. Thanks Timon, another potential contender. The Edelrid Tree Core also seems to be the type of simple harness I'm after.
  14. That was me on Saturday mate. I felt like a rude boy in prison.
  15. Thanks Darrin. The buckles on the Skylotec look a bit pony, and the bridge ring looks like it could move depending on how tight the waist belt was? I like the ISC buckles on the Tree Tribe, that looks interesting, although I'd definitely lose it! I'd always try before I buy unless I go Sequoia again.
  16. I've become a bit disenchanted with my trusty old Petzl Sequoia lately because of the hideous design of the adjustable buckles, which now basically don't adjust. This is more important now it's layers on, layers off weather. I've washed them, lubed them, fricked around with them for hours and they have become a nightmare, especially the leg loops. I love the lightness and minimalism of the Sequoia, but want one with decent buckles! Are the buckles on the new generation Sequoia any better? I always want buckles that don't readjust themselves every climb like my old Komets used to. I'm not interested in the TM or new Simarghu, they are far too bulky for my snake-like style. Great harnesses, just not for me. Any advice welcome. Preferably from climbers. Ta.
  17. Forced holidays (eating into the entitled days) during Christmas break are totally standard now, like it or not.
  18. Must be a good strong brew that Spike!
