Saw this last night. There must be a reason he didn't climb higher and rig smaller, unless he was American. I haven't seen any reports yet about what the outcome to the climber was, but it doesn't look good.

Nothing I haven’t done myself and got away with. Pegs on the timber didn’t help, nor did the groundie not letting it run a bit, but poor cutting was also a factor. As Jones says, you need to be ready to shift. I’m not being a smart arse, I’ve done worse and was very lucky to escape a few times.

Why would they be doing 35mph in a 30? Oh yes, rules don’t apply.

I don’t do any road cycling, but plenty of my mates do. They get more infuriated by the arrogant antics of some of the bigger groups than anyone else because they all get tarred with the same brush.

Big groups are the problem. They seem to develop a ‘this is our road today’ mentality. If they are having some kind of ‘event’ they’re even worse.

Went to look at this blown cherry yesterday. Snapped at about 4’, hung up, still a lot of crown well up in the air. Should be an interesting job, but we need to wait for the beekeeper to relocate the occupants first.
