  1. Must of been a nightmare, Know how i felt when my little chick was rushed in with convulsions............................All the very best to you and your family and don't forget to spoilt her a bit when she gets out! Ian
  2. i had trouble flogging it for a fiver a net so dropped the price........but 25 quid..........dick turpin rides again:scared1:
  3. there a good saw, the pro range is getting some good feedback, i have a small makita top handle that i anly use for pruning work, good saw but not as well built as a sthil, not stihl prices though. If your after a cheaper fire wood saw have a look at jonsered aswell, built by husky and almost the same to look at apart from colour.
  4. Yes its a fair price but an 18" bar is to big, it will just bog down, get a 13-15" and it will be a good saw, play your local dealer off against the ebay price and see what he can do also ask jonsie on here (FR Jones and son) what he can do.
  5. Why Not? i have bought loads of tbay, yes had the odd problem but they have been sorted out, had some cracking deals aswell, regarding come back, you have just as much on the net and if you pay by credit card even more so granted you cant just pop it back but to be honest it aint that much hassle posting it. bought new and used with no problems, better if you can collect as you can inspect it. I would always support my local dealers first and for say 30 quid i would go there but after that i will consider the net.

  7. Agree with huck, for the home user its great but no way will it last the life of the saw like the standard system does, i think its just a selling point for the DIY saws.

    Stihl MS180

I tend to agree, i have a 170 with a 12" bar that i keep for taking out hedges, light, just the right power and quick to sharpen but as a full on work every day saw there not up to it, after all there a home saw for the diy user, having said that there STIHL better that diy shop specials.......(like the pun?)
  15. I do the same, i sell by the dumpy bag or by the load, i never quote a weight as i carn't weigh it. I do make sure that the bags a brim full and you get a GOOD load, might do myself out of a few logs over the year but i dont have any problems.
  16. MS 250 will be good, give Jonsie a call on arbtalk, he will give you a good price.
  17. But it will fall apart after a few cube.............
  18. Stihl MS260 with a 15" bar should do it, will take a bigger one if needed or if you need more poke how about an MS341
  19. I'm the same stockers, don't pee em off as there reliable work. think we have all been there, i NEVER give a price with out seeing it first, even if it means a drive and a couple of wasted hours, people still try to get a price oner the phone but i just say no, been had over to many times "i have a 20ft conifer that i want down" when you get there it's 40ft over a shed and 3 gardens
  20. Cool pic mate, looks a great place to live.....have a good 1
  21. Large conifer reduction in the morning..........(hate conifers) then loading logs for a delivery tuesday.
  22. I am after buying a new climbing rope, what would you guys reccomend? i have always used 13 mm (been told it's cart rope) i know alot use the thinner stuff, hows it compare to the 13mm stuff, does a prussik or split tail bite as well on the thin stuff? and what do you thing i should get.... happy christmas to all you wood butchers:001_tongue:
