  1. Glad to have re-dressed your opinion of our happy if a little eccentric community...i am merely a Northern tree monkey with a passion for this life...yes as you well know mr yaffle i was the travelling Arborist long before i started my thread and our paths have crossed both in tree work and pleasure and i look forward to our next adventure!

Thanks Guy..I am as always pushing onwards and upwards...I now realise my potential and it is as a crew leader or manager...and yes ivy is great habitat but most spec on our works orders is severing the ivy...
  5. Yep OMT Ivy is severed:) cheesmanator I love my SJ and the ZZ Will really have to deliver if I am to turn to the Zagside:rolleyes:
  6. Mine is made of Yew and is a joy to use...so smooth:thumbup:
  7. Well done Clive! I may need a new spurtle soon...worn one edge down making soup each night;) may I reccomend the finest of file handles also turned by mr Bodge
  8. Nearly got my ZigZag today...but i wasn't at home so it was taken to the nearest Post Office... But they couldn't find it when i went there..returned home and called Parcel Force who said it WAS signed for at the P.O....returned again but they still couldn't find it...i've given them 24 hours to find it...i was really looking forward to trying it on some nice Planes on my 11.7mm...oh well....tried my mates on an Oak...i'll leave my judgement until i can use a thinner rope...13 mm is too thick imo.
  9. Got plenty of Vitamin D today! From Sunrise to sunset blue sky and lovely warm temperature here in a Park somewhere in London:cool: My ZigZag is less than 24 hours away but Liam had purchased one the day before so got a chance to look it over. First impressions were how neat and well made it is.in use it sits well on the rope and is Super smooth to manipulate (according to Liam on 13mm) i'll review mine on Blue tounge 11.7:thumbup: the weather is set to change tommorow so made the early spring weather even more welcome...

  15. What a great way to end the week..beautiful warm sunshine and i was in charge. i always feel that i would make a good Manager or team leader..so at least for the last three days i have been able to give advice and critisism and most of the time, enthusiasm regarding their climbing...workposition or silky/chainsaw use..really enjoyed it.being in the tree at the same time so no shouting from the bottom of the tree...and close up shots to explain techniques..we now have 5 qualified climbers! The moral in the crew is the best i,ve seen it:001_smile: We closed the whole area of trees off and each had a couple of Crown lifts, thins and a couple of Oak Deadwoods...what a great friday..climbing trees in the Sunshine and Got plenty of treework done..Spring is almost with us.
