  2. i,ve done a few large re-pollards with a silky (5 years and older) i think this little saw looks an ideal tool for such jobs:thumbup1:
  3. Had a few years involved in London Plane re-pollards...cut em to the knuckles..repeat every 3-5 years. Seen them done leaving fingers. Doesn,t quite look right (IMO) not sure how the tree feels about it.
  4. Off to Chinatown to take some photo,s:001_smile:
  5. I live in a bedsit so that may be a bit too cosey:rolleyes:...I'll check out the options...

  14. Papparazzi is going well Pete. And I have a new Galaxy note 2 to use to produce great multi media...Marc my Camera is a Canon D1000 which takes incredible close up flashed pictures but for some reason I prefer my Samsung for taking images:confused:
  15. that's a shame APBELL...Hey Jon...I reckon we wil need 2 Barrels of Cheddar Scrumpy and some Stilton:beer::beer:
  16. Yes Jon...as you well know,in a fight between a tree and an 088.....The 088 wins every time.
  17. interesting question..My first lesson on directional cuts, step cuts in the tree specifically a dismantle i was told that a climber is peeling the tree apart using gravity...i still don,t really feel tired after doing it...more buzzed up on adrenaline. Having been a groundsman in equal measures i would still say that is the physically harder job...especially clearing a large re-pollard (commercial speed). my first work was clear felling Sitka Spruce,(felling, snedding, cross cutting and stacking) on uneven ground....That was very, very hard work!
  18. i,ll find out where it came from....you will have seen larger ones right?
  19. That is such a sweet set up..i keep hoping my ZZ lands through the post a s.a.p:)
