  9. Seems you have summed it up Tommy_B. I have even heard of instances where trainers/assessor must first pay for the trees... They are a resource after all.

  15. I would be surprised if you could not find a level 3 course closer to where you are situated but if not it may be worth checking out Moulton College in Northampton.
  16. Updated field guide for VTA - C. Mattheck.... Worth a read and a place on your shelf!
  17. Can someone shed some light... I have worked at a premises which had stumps with TPO's on them, it is likely the case that they were trees when the order was served. My question is... Now that the area has been hit with a blanket TPO will this automatically also cover the stumps which unless ground out may infact regenerate depending on the species?
  18. We currently use harris fencing which we have welded the nuts though left it loose enough that it can be folded down and easily moved. Air flows straight through so wood dries well. Oh and all wood is raised off the floor on wooden pallets.
  19. Greenmech... Seen one being used on the M25 widening.... All sorts of material going through it.... Never missed a heartbeat!!
  20. HSE clarified that risk assessments should be carried out by the most competent person in team/site etc... If something changes during work periods then task should be reassessed (this includes weather) If it is decided that there is danger from heat stress, the most competent person may state that type a trousers can be worn. Note, this would be measured against the experience/competents of the operator who will then climb in type a trousers. If most competent person feels type a trousers are needed but climber is not experienced enough, guess what.... yes.... work should immediately stop until conditions are more favourable. If climber decides to continue climbing in type c and becomes ill after it was assessed that temperatures are at dangerous highs, they should remember that their health and safety is their responsibility as well as their managers. So.... there is no figure set by the HSE at which point everyone changes into type a trousers. Hope that helps
  21. If the pictured Oak is anything to go by it must be quite an interesting survey. Anywhere we know?
