  1. Definately visit the blue mountains, gorgeous views from above. Been far too long since i saw those views. Not jealous in the slightest myself though.....Really, not jealous at all:bawling: Hope you have a great time cobber.
  2. The right buttock raise. I do one of these each moring and follow with a healthy trouser cough and i feel marvelous the the rest of the day.
  3. Thank god i'm not the only nutter out here! Dean, your post made me laugh to myself,i remember being that purple faced goon. shaking with rage and offering to "take all of you on!"Quite, quite stupid in hindsite as i would of probably been pummeled silly and left looking and feeling stupid for a long time after if anybody had taken the offer up. But it just showso how hard it can be to get a release from all that can build up little by little. It's,like has been said on here already, a matter of knowing when you have to stop and take stock, work out whats really the most important thing you need in your life. And detritus, i agree totally, once i'm up that tree, saw in hand swinging around, thats all i'm thinking of.No big worries other than leaving a cracking looking job. Keep smiling fella's.
  4. Started off with a little one between the shoulder blades and all my mates said you'll be back for more,No chance i said. I now have a full sleeve, back done, lright arm started, bit on left leg, bit on right leg, chest.Still not finished. Start saving eh?lol
  5. Ah the good old bum banner,Sure you feel better once it's settled down mate. Does smart a little on the back does'nt it. Well to be honest can't think of where it does'nt hurt.
  6. Dunno about you lot, but i kept expecting Borat to suddenly appear in one of the pics. Suprised he did'nt have a team of doneys pulling it over! Not sure if he was brave and skilled or stupid and lucky?
  7. Cheers JH. Nice to meet all of you folks too. Right,i'm away to watch this thing about the saxons on CH4. Later gents.
  8. I'm stuck with the body and features of a big tattooed biker i'm afraid. Don't be scared though, the big pink teddy, thats the inner me so our lass says.
  9. Please don't say that freaks you out too!!
  10. Seeing as how we're on the subject of de-stressing i'll do that for you. Don't want anybody freaking out. Going to use the time i'll have to catch up on all the studying i should of done, re-invest in myself as it were.Been doing this job for 17 years now and think it's about time i did just that.Use my brain muscle a little bt more. Right, i'll go see if i can find a nice fluffy relaxing picture for you.
  11. Hats off to you Dartmoor. Must of took some guts to share that with us.Much respect. Today i handed in my notice, after 5 months of being a stressed, angry, unhappy partner, father i decided that i'd rather be skint and happy than comfortable and waiting to pop. Recognise loads of the symptoms that have been mentioned on here, but glad i saw them early enough to make a change. I'm worrying a little where i'll find work for bike payments etc, but i'm also feeling like i'm made of straw now, no weight bearing down on me anymore. Sincerley hope all of you get to grips with your problems and stresses. Thankyou all for sharing.
  12. HAHA,just spent the last half hour pouring out my problems to a set of complete strangers, funnily enough i did feel a lot better for putting it down on page as it were,i relate to a hell of a lot of what has been said on here. But as i came to the end, and i was ready to post my questions and share, it told me i'd been timed out. Another time i suppose, but i'm impressed a bunch of hairy arsed arborists can stop and share, that helps a bit,Typing it all out helped. Still don't know wether i should quit my job or not though. I'll probably try again tommorow, time to spend some quality time with the Mrs. Cheers Fella's.
  13. I just do the same with a prussik and a pulley, tied to the other end of your rope with an old bit of throw line.Much less grabby than a blakes in my opinion.
  14. See you on Monday Vicki. Should be good for a month or two at least hopefully.
  15. ZZR1400 As shown by my youngest. As for a trackday???Maybe when the buggers paid off, insurance is high enough already.
  16. Agree totally. Done loads like that, some make you wonder how they've stood like that for so long. It's when your getting sprayed with stagnant water as your chogging it down and can't get a better position, that's never a pleasure.Smelling like a wet old mattress all day:thumbdown:
  17. From what i recall from our work by Brit tip, i reckon you won't get much change out of 4G for the bodywork and the ram.
  18. I have a 20m and 15m. The new lad(at the time)though, (who chopped through it with a sliky???)has a nice new spliced eye side strop of about 2M. Last time i let him climb on my rope......
  19. Came down from the tree for a swift cuppa, went to get back up,stumbled over some brambles and stamped down hard on my ankle while wearing my spikes still.Just missed tendon and had to sit in Otley casualty for three hours. Plus did'nt get paid as could'nt finish job!
  20. Had mine handed down from the last climber they had, great lightweight spikes, dead comfy to works hours in. But, the straps started to degrade after doing the same thing some of you are talking about.Slipping down. Will try the cable tie route, but wll need to replace whole of one of the straps before long,so does anybody know of a place (in the north west preferably) who could help? Or do you reckon get back to manufacturers?Don't have any info on these spikes as i had them passed down as i said.Look exactly the same as the one's in the picture.
  21. Cracking band,Seldom seen kid has barely been off my player since i bought it yonks ago. This is a cover they did a while back,go to the link and enjoy. http://www.rathergood.com/independent_woman
  22. The best advice i can give to start with is to get your hands on some nappy rash cream. Brisbane being sub tropical makes you sweat just a little, you'll find after a few long days grafting in that you can get a bit tender behind the knees, crotch, anywhere that rubs etc.Drink plenty of water(up to 5 litres a day we got through some days)and keep that skin covered as best you can. Second bit of advice is buy a cooley box, great for keeping your box of Tooheys blue nice and cold after a hard days work. Worked From a base in Virginia,domestic,site(1st day worked next to the gabba)and a fair bit for Caboolture council. Hard work, long days ,but made a packet, came back with more than i arrived with. Hope you have a good time mate,is a good place to be.
  23. The one's who wait till you've come down from a beautifully done reduction, watch you pack away the gear, clear up all the mess and then say, "is that all your taking off????,i want it more like that" and point to the neighbours butchered mug tree. There's no helping some folk!
  24. In Brisbane, full extent of a 29 Metre MEWP taking down a big ole iron bark.Had to lower it because of location.took the top out beautifully, unfortunatley hit an unseen paperwasp nest and got covered from top to toe in these little bastard wasps stinging the hell out of us.Operator was i shorts so he got the worst of us both, went home for the afternoon, via the hospital. I was brushing the buggers from his face so he could see to operate the levers whilst shouting "DEADMAN,DEADMAN,DEADMAN"not realising thats not the term he used for a emergency return lever that did'nt exist on this platform, just in my head.Made it to about 6 M from the deck before i bailed out, lol.Luckily the lads had a bottle of gator antiseptic type stuff ready and sprayed me down with that.Felt a bit strange but carried on with the day, just a lot slower and had a weird vibratey buzzy feel about meself, most strange. Oh,lost me bloody watch with all the arm flailing too haha, would'nt recomend it.
  25. Did'nt mean to cause any offense to anybody,i'm just a blunt yorkshireman who say's it as he see's it.My Mrs reminds me of this quite often too..... Apologies if any offence was caused mate, not my intention. Good luck with your sharpening.
