  1. Adam Put your location up fella. B
  2. Saw it, liked it, want one. Not so sure about the strength of the tool clip though, could of been a bit more sturdy looking for my liking, but apart from that i was very impressed.
  3. Cheers for that fella, been wanting to do that for a while now. Queens of the stone age here we come!
  4. Free Arbtalk beer? I'm coming anyway, but thats sealed the deal for me Might even get me to part with some of my hard earned cash too!
  5. I'm tired of chasing up the same bloke for the last two payements of a week in hand. not a massive ammount again, just short of £400, but when you're told a week in hand i expect to be paid a week later exactly. Not have to call everyday to be met by answer machine, not to have all txt's ignored. As a subbie climber in the present climate, it takes just one or two late cheques to make my life really tricky, i still have bills going out, still have direct debits, still have fuel to pay for. I could maybe live with the fact it's late if i had an answer, an explanation or something, but to be ignored when i've had no work since and any time now i'll start getting bank charges is infuriating. I know where the company is based(As do the other 4 lads i know who are also owed)and the longer i have to wait, the more temted i am to turn up on his doorstep with my hand out. Sad thing is, i was contacted via this site for the work. Won't name the company here, but if things had'nt been so quiet lately i'd of told him to forget it as it's not the 1st time it's happened. Sorry if i've had a bit of a rant here, but sometimes it feels like your'e just havin it taken out of you big time.
  6. Ah! Your right, i feel it's time to watch it again. Love the scene where he splits in two, evil Ash V Good Ash.
  7. Got to be Ash in Evil dead 2, Army of Darkness
  8. Still feeling the effects mate, was a cracking weekend, just wished we'd set up tent in the no fire area, i was told it was a wee bit more "peacefull" on the Friday night Lot's and lots of backfiring going on, (gotta love those earplugs) Good set of bands and a top set of acts in the comedy tent too, laughed hard. Think we'll be back next year, just need to sort out mi luggage on the bike, rack nearly snapped on the way back! All in all though, cracking weekend
  9. Check on here from time to time aswell. Arbjobs.com - Tree Jobs! - Job Listings
  10. Well, booked the tickets this aft, gonna head over Friday for a cracking boozy do of a weekend. How many others are going then? Might have to keep an eye out for you in one o the many beer tents eh? Would say i'll be the big beardy baldy tattooed bloke, but don't think that'll help much
  11. Oh, must of been a bad year for lookers too if they stuck us on the website! And i've got mi lid on too!
  12. Hmn? Call you 18 Stoner eh? I've got a pretty good idea which you are hehe.
  13. I'm Famous!! Just had a quick looky see what the tickets are costing now, and who's that handsome chap and his Mrs gracing the tickets page? Me thats who:biggrin: Might try and see if she's up for a weekend away from the spogs again. I fancy a big weekend out, sod the rain, all character building as we say.
  14. Have'nt been for a few years now. Last time was the year after it all got flooded out, just didn't have the same feel anymore as the camping got shifted up top.Used to love the sight of a long, long line of smokey fires and thousands of bkes down in the valley,Almost like a medievel camp at times i though, especially when you looked at some o the buxom wenches:thumbup: Maybe again sometime soon, just as soon as the memory of that last cold wet achy weekend dulls. Must be getting soft in my old age
  15. I was Mr Magoo untill i had it done, very short sighted, couldn't read a number plate unless i was about 3ft away.Only just made the limit of where it may be effective enough. Think my prescription was 5.75. Got both eye's done through ultralase in Leeds and was the best thing i'd ever spent money on. Used to work i contact lenses and suffer with the sawdust everysingle day. Has been about 7/8 years since the op, just wear driving glasses now, was told that as you grow older you'll probably need reading glasses as you would if you had normal vision now. Only bit that is a pain is wearing the weird plastic goggles you have to tape to your face to stop you accidentaly rubbing them in your sleep. Oh, and the smell, that is weird smelling your own eye's burning. I've recomended this strongly to anyone who's asked, one of the best things i've ever done.
  16. RE Recovery. If i can offer what seems like fairly obvious advice here. My dad had this operation some years ago, ( been in the same profession as us lot for a few years.) He had both wrists done at the same time thinking he could get back to work sooner and not lose extra time having them done one by one. He did'nt take into acount the small things he'd need help with..... Lets just say, luckily my mum was'nt too squeemish as had done this sort of thing before when she'd worked in an old folks home. Good luck, but i'd do one at a time if i were you mate.
  17. Ben. To be fair i groundied on that job,and i have to agree with arbclimber. Your'e a good climber but you seemed too keen to be dropping huge pieces just because we had the riggging gear and you wanted to use it.I did offer a bit of advice but you did'nt seem interested in what i had to say either.I know i probably don't look like your average 6 packed super climber, but have been at it for 18 years(worked for local authorities to small firms, to big Eucs in Australia), and have picked up a few tricks along the way.We could of made that job a little easier with some better communication i reckon. But, as we'd only worked together on a few occasions no-one likes to assume they know best do they? We had plenty of time, no pressure, but sending bits down that size made my life much more difficult as i was on my todd and i spent half the time tieing off, cutting small bits, clearing, lowering the next part of this ruddy great branch and generally struggling where i did'nt really have to. Not knocking you for this, just something to think on for next time.Gladly work with you again, maybe i'll climb next and make you sweat:001_tongue:
  18. How many barns have you got mate??? Still got those old scout tent tarp's cluttering up my shed. Let me know if you come across any of your old bikes eh?Might find a good project in there somewhere????
  19. I'l put your name forwards Mike if we need another pair of hands any day, know your a grafter, bit short like but not your fault eh?
  20. Oh, Ey up Ben.Totally forgot about you lol. Give him a call eh? 1st up best dressed
  21. Might mention the rush is as he was let down by a colleague of mine after promising to do the work last week and he's already booked the plant in.
  22. Ow do. Due to other commitments(getting wed on Friday and going on honeymoon shortly after) i can't help out this client i've worked for a few times before. So puttin it out here for any local Climbers just to help him out as he's on a tight timescale. He has machinery booked in to start on his extension works, hence the rush. I'm assured he has written permision for these three tree's to be removed, though i'd stress you do check this yourself as he's rather keen to get them done at the weekend rather than the Thursday this week i offered up. Could be that i'm a cynic, could be perfectly legitimate.Best to be sure. Anyway, his names Andy, his numbers 07977998571. Mention Brett passed on his details if you call,he was happy for me to post it up here.
  23. You must be from North Yorkshire Postcode and best time to catch you mate ?
  24. Cheers all, some cracking info there! Think Skye will be having the pleasure of our company on the way up, and Yve, i've heard about these lovely quiet beaches, exactly where we are thinking of parking up and spending a night in the motor wrapped up cosy with a wee dram or two! Thanks for all the help so far, will be first Holiday/break we've had on our own in a long long time, much needed. Hope it's yorkshire tea you have up there Stephen, stand yer spoon up in it strength stuff :0)
